5 Reasons why Roman Reigns should win at Money In The Bank

3. Even if it goes wrong, WWE will protect Reigns

WWE will not make the same mistake it made with Del Rio

Only once in the past has the Royal Rumble and Money In The Bank briefcase been won by the same person in one year, and that was in 2011, when Alberto Del Rio won the biggest Rumble in history and also the Raw ladder match for the WWE Championship contract.

Del Rio went on to become a two-time WWE Champion and also a World Heavyweight Champion but then his career dropped and he was eventually released for assaulting a backstage employee who allegedly had directed racist comments towards the former superstar.

Reigns’ career will likely end up in a better place if he wins the briefcase. The problem with Del Rio’s time was that CM Punk had risen above all expectations and WWE had to invest on his star power, leaving Del Rio out of the equation.

The same mistake won’t be made with Reigns, however, because he has been lingering around the main event for a while now and has been on the heels of the top feuds in the company.

2. Reigns needs his own direction

Big Show vs Roman Reigns feud after Wrestlemania was easily a forgettable angle

After WrestleMania, Roman Reigns faced The Big Show at Extreme Rules, was a part of the Fatal Four Way main event at Payback, and since, has been almost playing the role of Dean Ambrose’s manager.

He needs something that he can work with on his own and winning this match is the best way for him to prove himself. Take a look at how things panned out for last year’s briefcase winner Seth Rollins. It gave WWE the time to build his status as a heel and establish himself in the main event scene, achieving unbelievable stardom in the process. Things could work out for Reigns in the same manner if he was to win.
