#4 What’s next for The IIconics?

The first match of the main card of WWE Backlash saw Sasha Banks and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against The IIconics and the team of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Cross once again controlled the match early and then all the other Superstars got involved. At one point, all six women ended up brawling at the same time to make Backlash more interesting.

While Bliss may have been the smallest Superstar in the ring, she managed to overcome the other four heels and keep her team in the match to try and win the Women’s Tag Team Championships again.

She hit Peyton Royce with the Twisted Bliss, but Banks took advantaged and rolled up Bliss to take the win and retain the titles.

What will The IIconics do following WWE Backlash?

While the match was good, one wonders why The IIconics were brought into the picture again if they were going to be treated the same way they were being treated earlier? Even though they weren't the ones pinned at the end, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay took most of the falls before Banks stole the victory to win at Backlash.

Last week, The IIconics took the pin against the team of Asuka and Charlotte Flair to allow the two top women to win. Will their loss in this match lead to them falling out of the women’s tag title picture again or will WWE continue to use them in big matches for others to shine?
