WWE Monday Night Raw: 29 September, 2014 - Superstar Ratings

It was a comparatively better performance from the creative team this week on Monday Night Raw. The rebellious Dean Ambrose stole the limelight once again while Cena’s thirst for the championship seemed to be driving him even in the absence of Brock Lesnar.Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury being used as on screen personals clearly turned out to be a good spot while the lack of matches announced for Hell in a Cell proved to be a negative.Compared to the recent shows, this was heaven for the WWE Universe that came into the arena in Chicago. A lot of superstars stood out amidst the chaos and here is a look at who all managed to do that with the help of Superstar Ratings.

#15 Layla 5

It was actually good to see Layla back in between the ropes and though Rosa Mendes wasn’t the ideal opponent, Layla benefited from the win. Apart from that, this was one of the worst segments of the week both in terms of the match and the dilemma that went down outside the ring.

#14 Alicia Fox 5.5

Alicia was lucky enough to be dragged into the AJ – Paige feud this week. She got a non-title win over the divas champion even if it was due to a distraction from Paige. WWE should make use of Alicia more after this match since she knows how to pull off a match unlike others in the roster.

#13 Mark Henry 5.5

Being stuck as an ineffective baby face is doing no good for the world’s strongest man who suffered a defeat to Bo Dallas. He did a great job of putting Bo over but the writers should be aware of the heel brilliance that Henry has in his pocket.

#12 Brie Bella 6

Brie was seen in a similar handicap situation that previously proved to be a stage for Nikki. Brie getting the job done while Nikki couldn’t do the same adds more levels to the feud which is shallow after AJ and Paige was taken away from the mix.

#11 Big Show 6.5

Show is proving to be a much better opponent to Rusev than Mark Henry. The World’s largest athlete is more charismatic than Henry and this is sure to make the feud more interesting. The match looks to be all set for Hell in a Cell and the outcome seems fixed as well.

#10 Sheamus 6.5

The United States champion had a glorified squash match in this week’s Raw when he went head to head with Damien Sandow. It wasn’t one of those wins that would be remembered for a long time, but it is a win nevertheless for the Celtic Warrior.

#9 Kane 6.5

Kane certainly had a good strong booking on Raw but the repetitive nature of the same is making matters bad for the big red monster. A bit more definitive booking is what Kane needs now and till then, he won’t be taken seriously by the WWE Universe.

#8 Cesaro 7

Cesaro is still far away from getting the wins that he need but that doesn’t pull him back from giving solid performances. Being in the Intercontinental title picture is working wonders for him and hopefully he would have more matches with Ziggler since the two have great chemistry.

#7 Bo Dallas -7

It seems like everyone who gets squashed by Rusev goes to Bo Dallas next as this was the case with both Jack Swagger and now Mark Henry. The win against a former world champion is a big deal for the inspirational superstar who should be given bigger things after this.

#6 Miz 7

The opening match on Raw was Miz’s opportunity to show that he wasn’t just another guy pushed undeservedly by the WWE. He made full use of the opportunity and came out looking good even in defeat. He has a lot of momentum after this match and will be looking to add on to this performance.

#5 Dolph Ziggler 7.5

The Showoff added another impressive victory to his resume by taking out both Cesaro and Miz to retain his Intercontinental championship. Any match involving him was sure to be a good one and this one was more special thanks to the quality of opponents he had.

#4 John Cena 8

The Cenation leader showed no intentions of backing down from another fight with Lesnar as he wanted the WWE championship more than he wanted Seth Rollins. It was another win via disqualification for the former champion who got overshadowed by Ambrose and the Authority.

#3 Randy Orton 8

Randy Orton’s win against Jericho at NOC was nothing short of impressive but he still seems to be lost in the roster. Being in the authority is keeping Orton rooted to the main event scene but he hasn’t morphed into the apex predator that we love to see.

#2 Dean Ambrose 8.5

Dean Ambrose was all over the show this week and all his promos were well on mark. The Ambrose that we saw this week was unpredictable to the core as always and he gave promos that we wouldn’t see from another WWE superstar for a long time. He is the focal point of WWE at this point and hopefully, the leg won’t be taken away from the gas.

#1 Seth Rollins 8.5

Ambrose got the better of Rollins for a majority of the show but in the end, it was Rollins who stood tall. He however has heat from all across the roster as even the lights of Orton and Kane started to show cracks. It was a good night for the architect in the end and he goes into SmackDown with his head high.
