What’s the story?
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, John Cena said that Nikki Bella apparently forgot some of the dialogue from when he proposed to her. Nikki & John’s relationship has been highly publicised within the media for many years now, with Cena finally popping the question at WrestleMania 33.
In case you didn’t know...
The engagement of John Cena and Nikki Bella had been rumoured for months, with many fans believing that Mr Hustle Loyalty & Respect would indeed propose to Nikki at the Ultimate Thrill Ride. As we now all know that’s exactly what happened, with the reaction from the WWE Universe being extremely mixed as is usually the case with the two names in question.
The heart of the matter
In the aforementioned report, it’s noted that John Cena spoke about the proposal during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
"I had to retell her things that I told her on that day because she was so happy. She couldn't process it all. As long as we are happy, I think I'm good."
The moment occurred after the two had defeated The Miz & Maryse in a mixed tag team match.

What’s next?
With Cena and Nikki currently off television due to other commitments and injuries, the next chapter in this story will probably come when we see the proposal play out on Total Divas in a few months time. In addition to this, the E! Network show will probably follow the happy couple throughout the process of planning the wedding.
Author’s take
For me, this moment at WrestleMania was a lot of fun after following the story of Nikki and John for years on Total Divas. Sure, some of it many have seemed slightly manufactured, but at the end of the day, the showcase of the immortals is supposed to have something for everyone. As cringeworthy as it may have been to some, the sight of all those young girls cheering the duo on made it all worth it.
