"These are guys that were kind of almost insulted in their WWE runs. [Sting and Wight were] not treated with too much respect over the last few years. We treat our legends with respect, we don't make jokes out of them, and WWE is notorious for that, whether it's Sting, Paul Wight, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Jake Roberts, Dustin Rhodes, throw in Chris Jericho.”

“We know how to treat our legendary performers with respect and make them all look great and make them all worthy of being in AEW because if they aren't worthy of being in AEW, why would they be there?"
Jericho discussed the recent arrival of former WWE performers Sting and Paul Wight, fka Big Show, in AEW. He is confident that their new promotional home will book them the way that they deserve.

“A couple of the boys have been talking backstage like MVP, Shelton [Benjamin], Bobby [Lashley], The Hurt Business guys have always been throwing my name around in the back. So, I think they’re the ones that got the ball rolling, and then [Mark] Carano ended up calling me and asked if I want to be in The Rumble. It was a good two days.”
Carlito was happy with the couple of days he spent in WWE after such a long time. He was also grateful towards MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley, who helped set the whole thing up.
