Ted DiBiase and Cameron Grimes kicked off NXT to celebrate Grimes' Million Dollar Championship win. Ted praised Grimes' physical and mental abilities that allowed Cameron to pick up the win on Sunday at TakeOver: 36. Grimes asked Ted where he was headed now and they both exclaimed "To the Moon!", before the segment ended.


Ridge Holland vs. Timothy Thatcher on NXT

Thatcher had the upper hand early on but Holland managed to take him down to the mat before hitting a running elbow for a near fall. Thatcher went for a submission before taking an overhead suplex but he went straight back to the arm-stretch submission.

Back after a break on NXT, Holland dropped Thatcher on the ropes before Tim went for a single-leg crab. Holland hit a huge headbutt and then the Snow Plow before pinning Thatcher for the win.

Ciampa went into the ring after the match and Holland attacked him before The Blackheart fired back and sent both Dunne and Holland out of the ring. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch showed up to take Ciampa out at ringside.

Holland was back up and Timothy dragged him out of the ring and attacked him. Holland hit back with the blackjack and Dunne dragged him off of Thatcher and took him backstage.

Grade: B


In-Dex were backstage on NXT and Lumis announced their wedding date and it was September 14th.


Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter vs. Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin on NXT

Carter and Dolin started off the match and Carter made an early tag before sending both opponents outside. Dolin took out Catanzaro off a distraction and managed to isolate her in their corner. Kacy was demolished in the ring but managed to make the tag after being tossed out of the ring.

Carter came in and cleared the ring on NXT before setting Dolin up on the ropes for a huge kick. Jayne was back in and Carter made the tag before she and Kacy hit their double team finisher for the big win!

Result: Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter def. Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin

Raquel Gonzalez was backstage on NXT and said that Kai was not done chasing her title. She said she had been waiting for Kay Lee Ray to challenge her before Franky Monet showed up to mock her.


Kay Lee Ray vs. Valentina Feroz on NXT

Ray took control of the match early on and no-sold most of Feroz's early attacks and hit a huge vertical front suplex in the ring. Kay Lee went for some knee strikes and hit a body slam on the mat before getting a near fall.

Ray tossed Feroz into the turnbuckles before hitting some big strikes in the corner. Ray followed up with a superkick before hitting the Gory Bomb and picked up the easy win on her big NXT debut.

Result: Kay Lee Ray def. Valentina Feroz

Grade: B-


Backstage on NXT, Jacy and Gigi were not happy after their loss, and Mandy Rose offered to help them turn things around.


Samoa Joe's Open Challenge on NXT

The three-time NXT champ Samoa Joe was out next on NXT and laid out an open challenge. Pete Dunne came out to answer the call, saying that Joe wasn't the strongest and wanted the title match.

LA Knight came out next and he too wanted to face Joe for the title. Dunne warned Knight not to get in the ring before Kyle O'Reilly joined them as well. O'Reilly made fun of Knight before saying that he respected Joe and that he earned a title match.

Ridge Holland took out Kyle and Dunne tried to attack Joe but Ciampa got to Dunne first. Holland took Ciampa out with a headbutt before LA Knight got in the ring and Samoa Joe took him out.


Backstage on NXT, Ted DiBiase was headed home and Grimes wanted him to have the Million Dollar title. Ted gave the title back however, but it turned out that he gave Grimes a fake title belt so that he could have the real one.


Backstage on NXT, Duke Hudson and Kyle O'Reilly had a violent exchange after an argument, which will possibly result in a match next week on NXT.


Carmelo Hayes vs. Odyssey Jones - NXT Breakout Tournament Final

Jones was tossing Hayes around the ring as the match began before Hayes ended up outside. Hayes came back with a dropkick but Jones countered with a knee strike. Jones dropped Hayes off a springboard dive before we headed for a break.

Back on NXT, Carmelo managed to get a headlock in before hitting a huge top rope kick. Jones refused to stay down. Jones hit a frog splash and nearly pinned Carmelo but he reversed into a crucifix pin and got the three count for the big win!

William Regal handed Hayes the contract that would allow him to challenge any NXT champion. Hayes was not sure who he would challenge yet but shouted out Odyssey for putting up a great fight before walking out.


Boa vs. Xyon Quinn on NXT

Boa hit some big kicks in the corner and on the ropes to start off the NXT match, before going for some vicious knee strikes. Boa sent his opponent into the corner and hit him with even more knee strikes.

Boa walked up to the ropes and looked at Mei Ying. They gave the signal before he went for the finish but Quinn managed to get a huge forearm and pin Boa for the win.

Result: Xyon Quinn def. Boa

Grade: C


Johnny Gargano was in William Regal's office to make him call off In-Dex's wedding when LA Knight ran in, yelling about a title shot. Regal was annoyed and sent them both out, calling them buffoons.


Malcom Bivens announced that Roderick Strong will put out an open challenge next week on NXT.


Hit Row vs. Legado Del Fantasma on NXT

Legado attacked Hit Row before the bell rang and a huge brawl broke out. Santos and Top Dolla were in the ring when the match started and Hit Row took advantage after the bell with B-Fab on the outside offering some cheeky assistance.

Adonis hit some big moves on Mendoza before tossing him outside and Hit Row were on top as we headed for a break on NXT. Once we returned, Escobar was in and hit a vertical suplex before making a tag.

Mendoza hit some big moves on Isaiah before Scott hit a clothesline and a big stomp. Top Dolla was back in and hit a big splash in the corner followed by a sidewalk slam before hitting the elbow drop for a near fall.

Top Dolla managed to pick up all three of Legado and drop them on top of each other! Top Dolla was isolated and wiped out before Escobar unloaded on Adonis in the corner.

Adonis took a missile dropkick from Mendoza but Scott broke the pin. Isaiah was in next and Adonis and Top Dolla wiped out the rest of the Legado outside while Scott hit the 450 splash on Escobar in the ring.

B-Fab tossed Escobar into the ring post before Elektra Lopez took her out with a lead pipe. Escobar rolled Scott up in the chaos to pick up the win!

We got the final match of the NXT Breakout Tournament and the debut of the longest-reigning Women's NXT UK Champion tonight. Legado Del Fantasma got a big win while Samoa Joe was faced with more than one challenger tonight on the NXT after TakeOver: 36.
