The WWE Royal Rumble has always been one of the most anticipated pay-per-views of the year. With a chance to stamp one's name in the history books and fight in the main event of WrestleMania, there is a sense of urgency among the WWE superstars when it comes to the Rumble match.

With this year's event just two days away, one can feel the excitement and anticipation among the WWE fans, especially regarding the 30 Men/Women Royal Rumble matches.

On another note, the recent turn of events - Finn Balor replacing Braun Strowman in his match against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship - has created a lot of buzz and has hyped the event.

Well, the 30 Men Royal Rumble match has always been the highlight of this monumental event and as of now, WWE has already announced 20 Superstars for the Men Royal Rumble match, leaving 10 open spots for surprise entries.

Apart from the surprise entries, one important aspect of the Rumble match is alliances. Superstars often form a temporary alliance in hopes of winning the Rumble.

So, without further ado, let's take a look at 3 alliances which could form in the Royal Rumble match.

#3 Hardy Boyz joining hands

According to the reports of PWInsiderElite, Matt Hardy has been cleared to participate in the Royal Rumble event on January 27 and could very well be one of the surprise entrants.

Given, Jeff Hardy has already announced himself for the Rumble, we might witness the Hardy Boyz joining hands to form an alliance.

However, what will be interesting to see is what future plans WWE have for the duo. Creative could have Matt eliminate Jeff to turn heel and lay down the breadcrumbs for a potential feud or the brothers could eliminate the New Day to tease a classic tag team feud if WWE decides to unite the brothers in a tag team.

#2 A heel alliance

A heel alliance has featured in many Royal Rumble matches over the years, and we might be in for the same on January 27.

WWE could have Baron Corbin unite the likes of Jinder Mahal, the Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley, and The Scottish Psychopath Drew McIntyre to form a heel alliance to dominate the proceedings in the Men's Rumble match.

However, the likes of Seth Rollins, Elias Samson and Apollo Crews are also scheduled to be in the Rumble match, so we might be in for a mouthwatering brawl.

WWE could then also have the former Raw General Manager Kurt Angle make a surprise entry in the Rumble match to even the odds.

On another note, given WWE is possibly booking Drew McIntyre as the next poster boy of WWE, Creative could have the Scottish Psychopath turn on the alliance to eliminate the whole faction single-handedly.

#1 A family reunion

According to the reports of PWInsiderElite, Bray Wyatt, Eric Rowan and Luke Harper are cleared to participate in the Royal Rumble match and could feature in as surprise entrants.

Thus, WWE could have the members of the Wyatt Family join hands under the leadership of Bray Wyatt to form an alliance in the Royal Rumble match. However, what will be interesting to see is whether Braun Strowman (originally a Wyatt Family member), who lost a title shot against Brock Lesnar, feature to have a whole family reunion on January 27.

WWE would also have an option of having the Wyatt Family clash with the heel faction of Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal if the Wyatt family reunion happens at the Royal Rumble.

A potential return of Bray Wyatt and a Wyatt Family reunion has been the talk of the town since TLC 2018. It could be likely that we may witness the Wyatt Family back in action on January 27.
