Former NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream has been out of action for a long time owing to a serious back injury. While initial rumors suggested that Dream might be able to make a comeback in early 2020, in time before the next NXT Takeover, new reports have suggested that there is no word on his return date.

Cageside Seats (via WON) have stated that Dream's injury appears to be pretty serious and there is no word yet on when he will return.

There’s still no word on when Velveteen Dream will return and his back injury is “pretty serious.”

One of the most popular NXT Superstars, Dream has been out of action since October and even had to miss Survivor Series. He had reportedly been working injured for a long time before it became too much for him and he had to take time off.

This could be one of the reasons that his condition reportedly worsened over time leading to him being out of action for an indefinite period.

The 24-year-old is not just vibrant in his character but is also known to stir up trouble for himself at times. One such incident was when he came out dressed in trunks that stated: 'call me up Vince', hinting at wanting a move to the main roster.

#4 Vince McMahon 'gave up' on EC3

Former Impact Wrestling World Champion EC3 has had a poor run ever since he joined WWE. Not only was he moved to the main roster too soon - before he got a chance to shine in NXT - but also his run on the main roster backfired completely.

Unfortunately for EC3, reports have stated that Vince McMahon gave up on pushing him too soon. Dave Meltzer reported that he believes McMahon gave up on pushing EC3 real fast.

“I think that Vince (McMahon) pretty much gave up on EC3 real fast…They did a try out in April of EC3 with Drake Maverick and putting them back together like they were in TNA, and Vince hated that too so I don’t think this one is a Paul (Heyman) call.”

EC3 is currently on the shelf having suffered an unfortunate injury. There were reports suggesting that The One Percenter will be making his return in 2020, but it remains to be seen when the RAW Superstar will finally be cleared to compete inside the ring.

Chris Benoit's son, David Benoit, recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet on a variety of topics including his career plans, his father's legacy, and an infamous incident at a WWE Live Event among other things.

David Benoit had attended a WWE live event in Edmonton, Canada, where he was barred from going backstage. The reason behind this was simply because he was wearing an AEW T-shirt that day.

They thought Jericho bought it for me. They thought it was a rib. It was because I went to an AEW show. It blows my mind, bro. I had to make a few phone calls. I was trying to talk to someone, but they never got back to me for a good four to five months. Everything's fine now, I talked to their lawyers. I'm welcomed everywhere now, we're good."

The 'Celtic Warrior' Sheamus recently spoke to SportsKeeda's very own Gary Cassidy, where he discussed his hiatus from WWE which had sparked rumors of his retirement.

The former WWE Champion recently made his return on SmackDown when he brogue kicked Shorty G. Sheamus explained his actions from last week that saw him berating Shorty G.

Here is what Sheamus told Gary Cassidy regarding how close he was to retire:

It's something that's always in the back of your mind. It's no secret that I had a couple of issues physically, a few injuries, because it is physical what we do - and then my style as well, it trebles that, you know? There were a couple times when I thought, "Will I make it back in there?" Especially when I got a concussion in that match after WrestleMania.
"But I used that time really well, I went to physiotherapy, went to boxing, kickboxing. I got myself in the best shape possible, dropped 40lbs. I feel better, look better, and I've never been hungrier to get back in the ring. For me, the first ten years were just a warm-up. This is the real deal now. I'm just starting, mate. I'm telling you, by body feels amazing. I feel better at 42 than I did at 32."

Aleister Black picked up another win against his nemesis Buddy Murphy this week on RAW. However, Murphy joined Seth Rollins and AOP by the end of the night ensuring that the former Cruiserweight Champion is going to get a major push.

With Buddy Murphy out of his way, some fans believed that Black may fall into limbo. But as per recent reports from Cagesideseats, the former NXT Champion is still in line for a huge push in the coming weeks.

Aleister Black is still on track for a big push up the card, which could come sooner rather than later.

There have been some rumors regarding a possible team between Murphy and Heyman, but those were never the plans as per Dave Meltzer of WON.

There had been reports that stated that Paul Heyman is very fond of Buddy Murphy and Aleister Black, and wants to make the two major stars. While some speculated that Black and Murphy may form a tag-team soon, Dave Meltzer had stated that it was never WWE's intention to push the two as a team.
