WWE Rumors: Backstage news on Sasha Banks possibly returning at Extreme Rules
What's the story?
Former WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks has been absent from TV since she reportedly "walked away" from the company following her Women's Tag Team Title match loss at WrestleMania 35.
In case you didn't know...
In the latest WWE NEWS,this past Monday night on WWE Raw, Nikki Cross defeated Smackdown Women's Champion Bayley in a Beat the Clock Challenge, and after the win, Cross announced Bayley will now be defending her title against both Cross and Alexa Bliss in a Handicap match at WWE Extreme Rules.
Following the PPV match change announcement, Nikki Cross urged Bayley to find a friend who is as loyal to her as Alexa Bliss is to Nikki Cross, leading many fans to believe the statement could have been teasing the return of Sasha Banks at WWE Extreme Rules.
The heart of the matter
During the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, via 411Mania.com, Dave Meltzer revealed that despite WWE dropping a Sasha Banks tease on Raw this week, there has been no definitive decision made regarding Banks' return to TV. Meltzer added WWE sources informed him that Sasha Banks' return to the company is "to be determined", and that it remains up to Banks herself if she wants to return to WWE.
"If it was lock [that Banks wanted to return to WWE] she'd be back," concluded Meltzer.
Sasha Banks remains advertised for two upcoming WWE events, as we noted within the past week that The Boss is being featured on posters for this year's SummerSlam PPV taking place in August.
Furthermore, we noted just days ago that The Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL, is advertising Sasha Banks for the upcoming WWE Raw taping on July 22nd.
