WWE Rumours: Seth Rollins to remain in Universal Championship picture after Survivor Series

The Architect is not done with Kevin Owens by any means

Seth Rollins was announced as the fifth man on the Survivor Series team as most predicted. 0:47 to 1:20 of the clip below is where things get interesting.

Rollins said that Stephanie had given him “certain assurances” to get him on the team, and told Kevin Owens that after they get the job done at Survivor Series and defeat team Smackdown Live, nothing is finished between him, Owens, and Jericho.

The keywords here are “certain assurances”, because according to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, the assurances promised to Rollins was a future Universal Championship shot. This means that Owens vs. Rollins 3, for the Universal Championship is a high possibility, maybe even for Roadblock: End Of The Line.

The venue of Roadblock, the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, announced on Facebook and Twitter, that the main event of Roadblock was Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns. There were even rumours of WWE building towards a Champion vs. Champion match between Owens and Reigns.

Reigns even teased a feud with Owens after Hell In A Cell on Raw Talk, when he said, “he has two shoulders” and added that he could succeed, where Seth Rollins failed and defeat Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship.

The issue Raw faces is that they lack full-fledged babyface challengers. After Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns is an option, but he is a babyface, who the crowd continues to reject. Apart from them, the only two potential babyface options for Owens are Chris Jericho (if he turns) and Sami Zayn.

However, Zayn has not yet been built to that Pay-Per-View main event level, yet, something that Reigns, Rollins, and Jericho have excelled at.

Reigns and Kevin Owens have shown incredible chemistry when they have wrestled in the past, and it will be interesting to see, where Seth Rollins gets added into the entire scheme of things.
