WWE SummerSlam 2014: 5 Matches that WWE could add to the Pay-Per-View

WWE is just days away from the biggest party of the summer and the match card that has been booked so far has made the WWE Universe buzzing.Eight matches have been made with an ample amount of buildups and there are certain superstars still in the roster that deserves a go at the pay-per-view.It is unlikely that the company would be able to add a handful of matches to the already packed card, but there is still space for one or two.The possibilities and opportunities are there for the creative team to cash in when it comes to adding an extra insurance for SummerSlam and here is a look at those matches which could do the purpose without raising the eyebrows of the fans.

#5 Summer Rae and Layla vs. Fandango

Back when Summer Rae returned and took out Layla, this looked destined to be one of the hottest angles in the divas division if pulled off well.

However, the company went with all the wrong moves on this one and ended up having no heat whatsoever on the storyline which had so much potential. Layla and Summer is on the same page now while they are haunting the ball room dancer whenever he gets in between the ropes.

The question that everyone has in their mind now would be the length to which the company is going to stretch all these.

Apparently, they have to put an end to things and doing it with some kind of gimmick match at SummerSlam would do the job. The fans could also see a good old Inter-gender match as well making this a sure shot success.

#4 Bo Dallas vs. Adam Rose

Bo Dallas and Adam Rose are two superstars who have made the fans curious in their short stay in the main roster.

Bo and his cheesy old heel gimmick are pretty much over with the fans while the only thing he doesn’t have is a proper push.

Rose on the other hand makes the entire arena dance to his entrance theme whenever he comes out. These are two names that is over with the fans due to their gimmick rather than the in ring work and a collision between these two would make the fans eager.

There isn’t much that the company should do in case of the result as either way would sit will thanks to the way the stage is set up.

#3 Usos vs. Stardust and Goldust (Tag Team Championship)

It was earlier revealed that the tag team championship was only defended twice at SummerSlam in the past decade. That record looks all set to be improved this year as the company hasn’t yet found a place for the title in the match card.

And to be frank, after having the Wyatt family face Usos twice before SummerSlam is what which ended up the company in such an awkward situation.

Though the Wyatt – Usos match would surely be one great encounter at the pay-per-view, however it would look repetitive.

This leaves them with the option of Dust Brothers as all the other teams are still trying to find momentum. These are two seasoned teams that would not fail the creative for sure.

#2 Sheamus vs. Cesaro (United States Championship)

While the company was busy building up the Intercontinental title bout right after Miz won it at Battleground, they had troubles doing the same for the US title due to Sheamus being absent from the programing.

With just two week away from the pay-per-view it might be a bit too late to book a title match but its better late than never.

The apt opponent for Sheamus would be Cesaro as he is someone who is desperate to get in the card. in the past Sheamus and Cesaro have had many credible matches and with such a big spotlight shining on them, it wouldn’t be any different.

As far as the result is concerned, Sheamus would have to retain the tile as Cesaro has something better in store for him after Lesnar goes back.

#1 Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze (NXT Championship)

The fans that follow both the main roster and the NXT action would be more than aware of the fact that the developmental territory has much better in ring action.

All the superstars stuck there have been exposed to a much bigger stage once the Network went full force but having a match at SummerSlam even if it is for the pre-show would be the best way to let the world know how good NXT is.

For that the company could pick the four main event names in NXT and have a fatal four way for the championship ensuring that the fans would go home happy.

It will be one of the best moves that the company could do with the Network renewals right around the corner.
