WWE Super ShowDown: Full match-card predictions

Super ShowDown will be the third WWE event in Saudi Arabia!
Super ShowDown will be the third WWE event in Saudi Arabia!

After the completion of a mostly successful Money in the Bank PPV, WWE's next stop is in the Middle East where the company will be holding its 3rd PPV in the land of Saudi Arabia, WWE Super ShowDown. The event will take place on June 7, 2019, at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

With some huge names and matches already announced for the show, WWE is looking all set to make this a star-studded event.

In this article, I present my full match card predictions for the event along with the winners. Feel free to let me know in the comments section about the changes you would like to see on this match card.

#10 50-man Battle Royal

My pick for the 50-man Battle Royal!
My pick for the 50-man Battle Royal!

One of the biggest questions at last year's Greatest Royal Rumble event was whether the 50-man Royal Rumble was a one-time deal or will be a yearly event. WWE has now announced that a 50-man Battle Royal will take place at Super ShowDown.

If you are unaware of the difference between a Royal Rumble and a Battle Royal, let me tell you. In the first one, the match starts with 2 competitors, and a new competitor joins in after a fixed time.

The way to eliminate any superstar is to throw him over the top rope with both of his feet touching the ground. While the way of elimination is the same in a Battle Royal as well, the key difference is that all the competitors gather in the ring together, and then the match begins.

One of my biggest concerns with the announced 50-man Battle Royal is how so many wrestlers will fit in the ring at once! I am really interested in seeing how WWE will execute the match. Will we have an oversized ring?

As for the superstars involved, I can see some major superstars competing in this match to increase the star-power. Superstars like Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, Ricochet, etc, can make this a pretty interesting match with some cool spots.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre or Lars Sullivan will win

#9 Braun Strowman vs Bobby Lashley

This would be a monstrous encounter!
This would be a monstrous encounter!

Another already announced match for the event in Saudi Arabia is the Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman, taking on the All Mighty Bobby Lashley in a one-on-one match for the first time ever.

This match would be a pure display of strength and power from both these heavyweights. I'm excited to see whether Braun comes out for this match wearing the green belt he won last year at the Greatest Royal Rumble. That'd be a great way to have some continuity in the event and would also portray Saudi Arabia as Braun's yard.

Prediction: Braun Strowman wins

#8 Samoa Joe vs Cesaro - Vacant United States Championship

The Samoan Submission Machine vs The Swiss Superman
The Samoan Submission Machine vs The Swiss Superman

Rey Mysterio shockingly defeated Samoa Joe at Money in the Bank under 2 minutes to become the new United States Champion. But the news coming out of MITB is that Mysterio had suffered a shoulder injury at the event and hence he also did not appear on the RAW after MITB.

No word on how long Mysterio would be out, but with what is believed to be a separated shoulder, Mysterio would most probably have to relinquish the title soon. Joe would definitely demand to get his title back, but the new era is all about earning a title, hence a tournament to decide an opponent for Joe in a match at Super ShowDown for the vacant US Title would be the best way forward.

Someone like Cesaro who is having some sort of makeover with his gimmick could be the right candidate to face Joe.

Prediction: Samoa Joe wins back the US Title

#7 Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder (c) vs The Viking Raiders - RAW Tag Team Championship

These two look set for a huge push on the main roster!
These two look set for a huge push on the main roster!

RAW's tag team division is all of a sudden looking amazing after the Superstar Shake-up with teams like The Usos and The Club moving to RAW. Another big reason for that is these two monsters.

The Viking Raiders (previously known by many other names) made their debut on the RAW after WrestleMania 35 and have been dominating the division.

They've even pinned the current RAW Tag Team Champs, and I can see them winning the RAW Tag Team Championship very soon. The RAW Tag titles have lost so much more credibility due to the current champions who hardly even appear on the show. WWE should take the titles off them soon.

The Viking Raiders challenging Hawkins and Ryder for their titles, and walking out of Saudi Arabia as the new champs would be the best decision for the tag division of RAW.

Prediction: The Viking Raiders become new RAW Tag Team Champions

#6 "The Demon King" Finn Balor (c) vs Andrade - Intercontinental Championship

The Demon King will return to WWE in Saudi Arabia!
The Demon King will return to WWE in Saudi Arabia!

In another blockbuster announcement, WWE has announced the return of the Demon King persona of Finn Balor as he takes on the newest Mexican sensation, Andrade, in a match to defend his Intercontinental Championship.

Balor and Andrade had some insane spots during the Money in the Bank ladder match that included a devastating Sunset Flip Powerbomb onto an inclined ladder which you can check out in the tweet below.

I'm excited to see these two battle once again at Super ShowDown in what could certainly be the match of the night. WWE bringing back Balor's Demon King persona on TV again gives us an indication as to how important it is for them to satisfy the fans, especially the royal members of Saudi Arabia.

Prediction: The Demon King retains his Intercontinental Championship

#5 Triple H vs Randy Orton

The Game vs The Viper!
The Game vs The Viper!

Triple H has also been announced to take on his former teammate as well as rival Randy Orton at Super ShowDown. I don't like the fact that WWE randomly announced this match on their social media rather than building a proper storyline around it.

These two have a great history between them and this might be the last time that these legends take on each other one-on-one. I would have been more interested in the match had there been some story involved. I see Orton going over in this one.

Prediction: Randy Orton wins

#4 Roman Reigns vs Shane McMahon - Steel Cage Match

The Big Dog vs Shane-o-Mac!
The Big Dog vs Shane-o-Mac!

This match is the latest one to be announced for the PPV. On the RAW after MITB, Shane McMahon announced that he will be facing Roman Reigns at Super ShowDown. While it is announced as a normal match at the moment, I have a feeling that this would be made a Steel Cage match in the coming weeks.

I can certainly see Shane pulling off another one of his crazy dives and jumps in Saudi Arabia to entertain the crowd and fans there.

Prediction: Roman Reigns wins

#3 Kofi Kingston(c) vs Kevin Owens - WWE Championship

MITB rematch!
MITB rematch!

Kevin Owens and Kofi Kingston faced off at Money in the Bank in a pretty good match that saw Kofi retain his WWE Championship. With just a couple of weeks left for Super ShowDown, I don't think there is enough time to build another contender for Kofi, hence Owens should face him again at Super ShowDown.

With Big E returning to the SmackDown after MITB, New Day turning on Kofi could be a possibility, but I think WWE would save that for a later date, most probably SummerSlam.

Prediction: Kofi Kingston retains

#2 The Undertaker vs Goldberg

The Dead Man vs The Myth!
The Dead Man vs The Myth!

In what might probably be the biggest match on the show, WWE has announced a one-on-one showdown between The Undertaker and Goldberg at the event. This would be the first time these two legends square-off in a one-on-one match.

While it would be nostalgic to see two veterans compete once again inside the ring, I don't really expect this to last for more than 10 minutes. It would certainly be a treat for the fans there to witness these two in a match, and it's tough to call anyone a clear favorite in this match. But my gut says Taker would go over Goldberg.

Prediction: The Undertaker wins

#1 Seth Rollins (c) vs Brock Lesnar - Universal Championship

Can Seth Rollins slay the Beast once again?
Can Seth Rollins slay the Beast once again?

In what was a huge shocker, 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar returned to WWE at Money in the Bank and won the briefcase by becoming a surprise entrant in the ladder match.

It was not long ago that fans witnessed the current Universal Champion, Seth Rollins, defeat Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 to end his reign with the big red strap. WWE's decision to make Lesnar Mr. MITB again puts him in the title scene. Paul Heyman mentioned on the RAW after MITB that The Beast will announce his cash-in next week on the red brand.

It all but looks set that we are getting a WrestleMania rematch at WWE Super ShowDown with Brock Lesnar challenging Seth Rollins for the Universal Title. While WWE should have learned enough from their mistake of having Brock as the champion and should not put the title on him again, we can never be sure of what might be going on inside Vince's head.

This is more of a request to WWE than a prediction, let Rollins go over once more.

Prediction: Seth Rollins retains
