WWE Survivor Series - Best and worst- The real reason why Roman Reigns beat Drew McIntyre, Big mistake with former Universal Champion

Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre had a very epic clash
Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre had a very epic clash

WWE Survivor Series was a long show by current WWE standards, but the matches flowed quickly, even though it could have ideally been shorter. Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre was clearly the match of the night, and The Undertaker segment that closed WWE Survivor Series 2020 was special too.

So, how did this edition of WWE Survivor Series measure up to the ones that have preceded it over the years? How did Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre compare to a marquee match as compared to, say, Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar, something that is still remembered and discussed to this day?

This is where we speak about WWE Survivor Series in great depth, and we invite you to do the same in the comments below.

#1 Best: Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre have one of the best matches this year

Not long ago, Triple H compared Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre to The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, as well as Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. While they may not have the drawing power of those legends just yet, Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre probably had a better match than these legends did at WWE Survivor Series, as they took each other to the limit in a fantastic match.

These are two men that look like movie stars but work like the best in the world, and they had the match of the night, making us wonder if this is a match that could potentially main event WrestleMania someday soon. The Undertaker may have stepped away from the squared circle but because of men like Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns, the business is truly in safe hands.

Roman Reigns has just been protected a lot more than Drew McIntyre, and he needed to win. However, it was great to see how McIntyre was protected too with Jey Uso's interference.

#1 Worst: Why did Seth Rollins eliminate himself from WWE Survivor Series in such a weird manner?

We know that former Universal Champion Seth Rollins will be taking time off after WWE Survivor Series to focus on fatherhood, but for him to eliminate himself 'for the greater good' was just the weirdest development at the very top of the pay-per-view.

There were a million different ways that Seth Rollins could have been written off from WWE Survivor Series, and in fact, someone could have done an angle so that when the Friday Night Savior returned to action, he would have had a readymade feud waiting for him, but what happened at WWE Survivor Series just made everyone in the ThunderDome (metaphorically) scratch their heads in sheer puzzlement.

Maybe it could have been established that because he's only been a part of the SmackDown roster for a limited span of time, he didn't have any sort of allegiance towards his brand.

Or maybe the WWE Survivor Series spot could have been given to someone deserving like, say, Big E.

#2 Best: The Street Profits and Sasha Banks have great showings at WWE Survivor Series in both their respective matches

The Street Profits needed to defeat The New Day because the latter are veterans who have nothing left to prove and for The Street Profits to score such a prolific victory at WWE Survivor Series just proves how much WWE management believes in the duo, as two men that will carry the flag of tag team wrestling for a long time.

And as for Sasha Banks and Asuka, we know that these two women cannot have a bad match however hard they may try, and even though Asuka needed the win a lot more than The Boss did, her loss at WWE Survivor Series will not really hurt her in the long run at all.

And we're glad to see how much WWE management believes in Bianca Belair as well, because she had quite the showing at WWE Survivor Series and seems primed to ascend a rank or two up the corporate ladder very soon.

#2 Worst: Lana won at WWE Survivor Series 2020 but is this the best way to do it?

Lana came into this match at WWE Survivor Series as the biggest babyface in the roster, because she revealed just how much she's struggled with her mental health owing to fans being absolutely brutal towards her.

And then Nia Jax, Lana's own WWE Survivor Series teammate asked her to stand on the steel steps and not interfere in the proceedings of the ongoing match.

The best way for Lana to behave in such a manner would have been to overcome the bully, to get some measure of retribution against Nia Jax, to bring this storyline to its logical conclusion.

Yes, her winning at WWE Survivor Series was the absolute right decision, but the way it happened, without her participating in the match and with Lana celebrating for winning a match that she had no part in absolutely boggles the mind. There's the whole narrative of WWE not knowing how to book babyfaces, and this is a clear sign that the rumor and gossip are indeed accurate.

#3 Neither Best nor Worst: The Undertaker's final farewell happens at WWE Survivor Series and wrestling fans across the world have mixed feelings

It would definitely be weird to group The Undertaker's retirement ceremony at WWE Survivor Series in the 'best' category, especially if you consider that we will not see someone who's been a part of our lives for decades anymore, but obviously, it's not a 'worst' either, so here we are. We echo your mixed feelings.

A lot of guests appeared at WWE Survivor Series but the most special one was an emotional Vince McMahon who stepped out from the back himself to bid farewell to his most loyal soldier.

We were thrilled to see JBL in attendance for the show, especially because he had hinted that he would be at WWE Survivor Series to pay homage to The Undertaker in a special video for Sportskeeda Wrestling. Do check this video out because he has a fun Undertaker story that you will not want to miss, especially after the ceremony that just rolled out at WWE Survivor Series.
