#2 WWE had a specific reason for not starting the build to Survivor Series early
The build to Survivor Series 2021 has been questioned by many fans who think WWE didn't give enough time to hype up the show. Many expected the build to start immediately after Crown Jewel last month but it started just a couple of weeks ago.
Dave Meltzer reported via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the delay in the build was to start new feuds and let the rosters settle down. It should be noted that the 2021 Draft came into effect after the recent event in Saudi Arabia. With that in mind, it was not entirely a bad idea to take things a little slow before hyping up Survivor Series.

#1 Will The Rock appear at WWE Survivor Series 2021?
Survivor Series 2021 will mark the 25th anniversary of The Rock's WWE debut. Arguably one of the greatest and most popular superstars of all time, The Great One has had an iconic career in the company and still isn't officially retired.
The biggest question on everyone's mind right now is - will he show up this Sunday? Andrew Zarian reported on the Mat Men Podcast last month that the chances of that happening are low as he will be in Australia but could still appear virtually at the event.
“Little update on The Rock – he's apparently in Australia during Survivor Series. Now, does that mean he won’t be doing something at Survivor Series? They’re definitely gonna mention it. They’re definitely gonna talk about it. There will be maybe a video appearance or something that’s planned. But he’s not gonna be there," Andrew Zarian said.
With that said, this is also a great opportunity for WWE to give the fans a major surprise. The talk of the town is the match between The Rock and Roman Reigns. The Universal Champion even hyped up the same during his appearance on The Tonight Show.
It's just too big of an opportunity for the promotion to not have The Brahma Bull appear at the pay-per-view. Let's have our fingers crossed and see what happens!
