We may finally see Sting make his WWE debut at Survivor SeriesIt might be just another regular week for some people but the same cannot be said about the wrestling fans. Survivor Series is simply hiding around the corner and there are plenty of reasons why the fans will be eager to watch the show.While Vince McMahon’s promotion was hell bound on promoting their second biggest pay-per-view of the year, many rumors were born throughout the course of last seven days.As usual, it was a mixed bag with some good and some bad ones for the fans and the company. There were some interesting ones about Survivor Series as well. So before we gear up in the couch with some chips and beverage, here is a look at the top rumors of this week.
#5 AJ Lee to take a break after Survivor Series
AJ Lee fans should be ready to hear some bad news at Survivor Series from the looks of it as the champion could drop her title to Nikki on Sunday.
This clearly doesn’t sound like a good idea at first but AJ will be taking some time off after the pay-per-view just like she did after WrestleMania. There are also some wild rumors about AJ quitting the company but that is a long shot.
She is still advertised for some events in December meaning that even if she takes a break, it is going to be a very short one. WWE wants to have a Bellas feud for the championship and AJ will probably brought back to put over Charlotte who is ready to make her main roster debut after the latest NXT pay-per-view.
#4 TNA to introduce new look and style
Now, this is a rumor that is encouraging for the entire Wrestling world. After their television deal with Spike TV ran out, TNA has secured a deal with Destination America which is part of the Discovery franchise.
They will be starting to air shows from 2015 but the most exciting part about this would be a change of style. The company is expected to make drastic changes in their new network and there are also rumors suggesting that we might get an original ECW like edgier product in the end.
As far as the roster is concerned, the company is still negotiating with the lights of Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle about a contract extension while Alberto Del Rio is rumored to be coming in from next year.
With TNA and Lucha Underground expected to go strong next year, WWE will have to sweat a lot to stay afloat in the wrestling business.
#3 Austin could be the next Raw GM
There are a lot of rumors going around about who will take over the power from Authority if they lose at Survivor Series and one of the names making big buzz is Stone Cold Steve Austin.
WWE has been pushing his merchandise for the last few months and were even producing some new ones. Obviously there was a plan for Austin to appear at WrestleMania but that appearance might come earlier than we expected.
The amount of friction that exists between McMahon and Austin is no secret and if McMahon hires his arch nemesis to take out Hunter and Stephanie, then that would be a storyline worth 9.99.
Having Austin on television would clearly sell the network big time and is simply the best move that WWE could make after Survivor Series.
#2 WWE is doomed
WWE invested everything they had in Brock Lesnar this year. The Beast ended Undertaker’s undefeated reign, he destroyed John Cena as though Cena was a kinder garden boy and he also won the WWE championship at SummerSlam.
Clearly the company wanted to build Lesnar as their face but I’m afraid I got some bad news for Vince McMahon. Lesnar apparently is not interested in extending his current deal with WWE which runs out at April.
He will be available to work at WrestleMania but the buildup to that would suffer big time due to Lesnar’s hide and seek game,
Also, if Lesnar cannot make it to WrestleMania, then instead of Reigns winning the championship, we might have Cena beating Lesnar again. In short, WWE is doomed.
#1 Debut of the icon
It has been a debut in the waiting for more than a decade and from the looks of it, the moment has finally arrived.
In a desperate attempt to make Survivor Series look like a big deal, WWE might let Sting make his debut at the pay-per-view. From the rumor, the icon would be involved in the main event in some capacity and this might be part of the power shift.
Sting, despite his age, is a big name that McMahon could show off while advertising the Network. It will not only be a good move for Survivor Series but it will also keep the fans in their seats for the weeks to come, which by the way is what the company wants after all.
