Brock Lesnar vs Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship

We are merely a few days away from what will be the most unique edition of WWE's biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 36, which will come to us from the Performance Center and other locations on April 4th and 5th. With the entire world fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE's efforts to entertain their fans is commendable.

Before everything collapsed into chaos, the match that was scheduled to main-event the show (which was just a one-night event) was the WWE Championship match between the champion, Brock Lesnar, and his challenger and the winner of the 2020 Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre. We still expect the match to main-event one of the two nights.

With this being the biggest match in McIntyre's career, all eyes will be on him and whether he can slay The Beast to win the WWE title! So hang with me, as I take you through the five potential finishes for this match. Be sure to let us know your thoughts and predictions in the comments section below. Here we go...

#5 Drew McIntyre becomes the WWE Champion after a "war" with The Beast

A wrestling match with Brock Lesnar is no less than a war. Throughout his career, we've seen him destroy his opponents with his sheer strength and power. With the match taking place in an empty Performance Center with no fans in attendance, we might just see the two Superstars tear each other apart all over the arena.

McIntyre, being the babyface in this match, could be used in a typical manner where Lesnar punishes him in the early stages of the match, only for him to make a heroic return and win the match after a hard-fought battle. The Scottish Psychopath has proven himself worthy to be trusted by the company to pin the Beast Incarnate clean.

Will McIntyre be able to become the WWE Champion at the Showcase of Immortals?

#4 Brock Lesnar manages to retain his title after being taken to the limit

Over the last few years, we've seen Brock Lesnar being taken to his limit by a few WWE Superstars. But somehow, The Beast Incarnate has managed to come out victorious from those battles through this devastating move that we all know as the F-5.

In his match against Samoa Joe in 2017 at WWE Great Balls of Fire, we saw how Joe dominated Lesnar throughout the match only for him to succumb to the F-5 at the end and lose. But he shined even though he lost that day.

Throughout the build-up of Lesnar vs McIntyre since Royal Rumble, the Scottish Psychopath has been made to look as dominating as The Beast Incarnate and being portrayed as a real threat to him. It wouldn't be very surprising if McIntyre also dominates Lesnar throughout the match only for Lesnar to somehow manage to sneak the victory and retain his title.

Well, this decision might not go very well with a portion of the WWE Universe who've been waiting to see the crowning moment of McIntyre, but there's a reason why this could be a potential finish. More on this in the next slide...

#3 The match ends in a DQ

If this was a normal WrestleMania, in a normal world as planned before the pandemic took over the world, probably all my five finishes would've seen McIntyre winning the title, but things have changed a lot in the last few weeks.

We've been talking about the crowning moment of Drew McIntyre and him finally getting his WrestleMania moment, but sadly the moment won't be as memorable without the presence of the WWE Universe. McIntyre is arguably the biggest babyface on the roster currently, as evident from the reaction of the fans.

My heart goes out for him when I think how badly he has worked and waited for this one moment, but due to the current circumstances in the world, his actual WrestleMania moment might be postponed. Just like how we saw Roman Reigns lose to Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, only to finally defeat him at SummerSlam later that year, the same could happen with Drew McIntyre.

Hopefully, everything will be fine by the time SummerSlam rolls on and we'll have a crowd of thousands of WWE fans rooting for the Scottish Psychopath to finally win the WWE title.

And that's why Brock Lesnar might retain the title at WrestleMania 36. If the company doesn't want to let McIntyre take the pin, a DQ finish might be on the cards as well which would protect both Superstars.

#2 McIntyre squashes Lesnar within a few minutes

Woah, what? Does Brock Lesnar ever get squashed (if you aren't Goldberg, of course)? Okay, hang on with me!

Lesnar has always been the bigger and stronger guy who dominates his opponents with ease. We saw last year how he burnt KofiMania to ashes in just 8 seconds, how he eliminated as many as 13 Superstars from the Royal Rumble, and how he manhandled Ricochet recently at WWE Super ShowDown.

But then there's this guy from Scotland who matches all his physical strengths and also possesses a finisher as deadly as the F-5, if not deadlier - the Claymore Kick. It was McIntyre who stopped The Beast Incarnate's slaughter at the Royal Rumble, and even during the build-up on the Road to WrestleMania, we've seen him take out Lesnar on multiple occasions.

If someone is going into this match as the underdog, it's Lesnar and not McIntyre, and that's a rare scenario. Can the Scottish Psychopath give him a taste of his own medicine at WrestleMania? Goldberg's spear took Lesnar out, Seth Rollins' stomp took Lesnar out, can Drew McIntyre's Claymore do the same? Squashing someone like him is sure to establish McIntyre as the next big megastar of the company.

#1 Lesnar loses to McIntyre, Heyman turns on his client

Paul Heyman!
Paul Heyman!

The WWE Universe has witnessed many wrestler-manager pairings throughout the history of the company, but not many have achieved the level of success as the one of Paul Heyman and his client Brock Lesnar.

The two have complemented each other so well that it's hard to imagine them break-up. But weren't we saying the same thing about The Undertaker and how he manages to include his real-life persona into his gimmick before he did it and made us excited to witness this new version of The Deadman? Well, change is sometimes very necessary.

WWE right now needs all the buzz they can generate with WrestleMania to keep the fans stick around to the product in the post-Mania season. Heyman turning on his client is sure to be a massive shocker as no one would see it coming. Why would Heyman do it? Well, the answer isn't very difficult. Brock Lesnar is the strongest!

But what if he realizes that Lesnar is now in the last few years of his career and there's a new beast in town who can replace him as his client? Heyman's a businessman, after all! Drew McIntyre pinning Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania could just be the moment he realizes that he should break ties with Lesnar and turn on him post-match. This could lead to a compelling storyline for the summer with a new Lesnar that we've never seen before.
