#2 It could help to protect both Edge and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania

Perhaps, WWE's rationale behind adding Daniel Bryan to the main event of WrestleMania is not that complicated at all. Roman Reigns and Edge are both top-tier main event megastars. They will remain as such following The Show of Shows, while Bryan's in-ring career seems to be winding down.

Bryan is a star of the highest caliber and enhances any match or storyline he is a part of. No amount of losses could ever damage his credibility as a main eventer. In fact, Jey Uso, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro have all beaten Bryan in the past few months. Yet, he is still going to headline WrestleMania.

He could take that ability and put over either Edge or Reigns at the event, so the other one does not have to take the fall. This makes a lot of sense, especially if WWE plans on having The Rated-R Superstar end WrestleMania as the Universal Champion.

If Edge pins Bryan to win, Reigns remains strong. He holds a valid claim to a Universal title rematch. This instantly sets up an intriguing storyline for after WrestleMania. Out of the three men in the match, Daniel Bryan seems the likeliest to take the fall. That being said, he could still win and have one final world title run.
