WWE WrestleMania 37 - 5 Mistakes that should not be made at any cost

Charlotte Flair should not be added to the WrestleMania match
Charlotte Flair should not be added to the WrestleMania match

WWE WrestleMania 37 is scheduled to take place this weekend from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The excitement is palpable because, after a year without fans in attendance, it's time to invite the masses back home.

So much of the card looks promising. Vince McMahon has done a lot of things right and if these missteps can be avoided, chances are that WWE WrestleMania this year may be one of the best ever. Of course, this is one person's opinion, so if you feel otherwise, feel free to air your views.

#5 Charlotte Flair should not be added to either of the WWE WrestleMania women's singles Championship matches

Charlotte Flair has been a mainstay for the women's division and the face of the brand for many years now. It seems inconceivable that she will be left out of the proceedings at WWE WrestleMania 37. And perhaps the events that led up to WWE WrestleMania were unfair and unjust.

But yes, if Charlotte Flair is included in either the WWE RAW Women's Championship match at WWE WrestleMania or even the SmackDown Women's Championship contest, she will add a lot to the mix.

Her star power, her athleticism and even the kind of heat that she generates would add a new dimension to the contest!

That said, it may make sense to bring Charlotte Flair back on the episode of RAW after WrestleMania.

Perhaps a staredown with Rhea Ripley, the newly crowned RAW Women's Champion, could set the pace for the year to follow.

Charlotte Flair can sit this WrestleMania out and she will still go down as one of the all-time greats to have ever stepped into the WWE ring — not just as Ric Flair's daughter, but as a truly exceptional trailblazer in her own right.

#4 Sasha Banks should not retain the SmackDown Women's Championship at WWE WrestleMania 37

Bianca Belair should win at WWE WrestleMania 37. Vince McMahon needs to strike while the iron is hot. Sasha Banks has done an unbelievable job as the SmackDown Women's Champion in the buildup to WWE WrestleMania, but it's not like she will slide down the ranks if she loses the title. It's Bianca Belair's time and everyone knows it.

Sure, Sasha Banks could retain the SmackDown Women's Championship and the division will still be as strong. That said, for Bianca Belair to capture the title would launch the SmackDown Women's Championship picture into a brand new stratosphere.

An argument can be made for the fact that it's far too soon for Belair to capture the title (if one has to play devil's advocate). But this statement does not really hold too much weight in this case.

Having second thoughts about Bianca Belair's reign is not something Vince McMahon can afford to do at this time. She should walk out as the brand new SmackDown Women's Champion.

#3 Shane McMahon shouldn't defeat Braun Strowman at WWE WrestleMania (or at any other event)

One of the hardest-hitting matches at WWE WrestleMania will be the steel cage contest between Braun Strowman and Shane McMahon. Strowman goes into the contest as the clear favorite, but McMahon seems very confident.

Whatever the case may be, whatever tricks Shane McMahon pulls, he should not pin Braun Strowman at WWE WrestleMania. Braun Strowman's stock has plummeted since the time he was the Universal Champion, and a victory at WWE WrestleMania 37 would really put him back on the map.

Shane McMahon is not a full-time wrestler and does not need the win. Braun Strowman should put in a dominant performance and then rise straight back into the title picture after WWE WrestleMania.

Whether Bobby Lashley holds the WWE Championship or Drew McIntyre does, Strowman can have explosive matches with both stars.

Remember how Braun Strowman has only had matches against the SNL cast, and clashes where he teams up with kids at WrestleMania. He deserves better. The fans do too.

#2 Asuka shouldn't defeat Rhea Ripley at WWE WrestleMania 37

One of the most eagerly-anticipated WWE WrestleMania matches pits Asuka against Rhea Ripley for the WWE RAW Women's Championship. To say that Asuka's reign has been booked poorly would be the biggest understatement of the century.

The title picture needs a reset and Rhea Ripley is the right person to carry the title into the new WWE era.

Asuka has done everything that the company has asked her to. She's gone from the unstoppable assassin that she was during her NXT stint to a comedy character on WWE RAW. That said, her booking has been atrocious and even she needs a major reset. The only way to achieve this would be to have someone else at the top of the card.

Rhea Ripley represents the future, the era that follows the reign of the Four Horsewomen. She deserves her big moment in the spotlight at WWE WrestleMania 37. In the long run, for Asuka to change up something in her gimmick may benefit her as well, or so one hopes.

#1 At WWE WrestleMania 37, Edge shouldn't be crowned the brand new Universal Champion

WWE WrestleMania 37 features two massive world championship matches - one between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship and another between Roman Reigns, Edge, and Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship.

Interestingly enough, Drew McIntyre told us in the clip above how he wants a match against Edge, presumably down the line after WWE WrestleMania 37. Do check it out once you're done reading this article.

Edge has done it all in the business and at this stage of his career, it's time for him to give back. Both Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns have had significant careers, but one has to believe that they need to win at WWE WrestleMania far more than Edge does.

For Edge to win at both the Royal Rumble and WWE WrestleMania's main event may not necessarily send the right message to the locker room. This is Roman Reigns' time and he needs to carry the Universal Championship in the months that follow.
