5 Possible angles for Sting after WWE Survivor Series

The long awaited arrival of Sting finally came on Sunday when the icon grazed a WWE squared circle for the first time at Survivor Series. WWE Universe apparently got to see the debut of Sting for free and after all those buzz, it has to be seen as a well-executed plan from WWE.They wanted to attract new subscribers for the Network and Sting came into the mix as bait for the same. The entire WWE Universe is now puzzled about the purpose of the legend’s appearance in the main event and what he has in store for coming weeks.Obviously there would be something planned out for him by now but still here is a look at the possible ways in which Sting could be booked in his first ever WWE run.

#5 A possible WCW stable

WCW has been dead for a long time now but the aura of the promotion is still pretty much alive. When Vince McMahon bought the bankrupt WCW, he ran the invasion angle which turned out to be a failure due to the absence of real WCW stars.

Names like Sting and Goldberg were not involved in that invasion angle and that was considered to be one of the reasons why that angle sank.

Now with Sting in their roster, the company has the opportunity to run invasion angle 2.0 with Sting leading a WCW stable against Triple H’s WWE team.

Sting could easily find some great talent down in NXT to be the new WCW guys and a full scale invasion angle will clearly make the WWE programming more exciting leading to next year’s WrestleMania.

#4 Savior of the deserving ones

Back in WCW, when the NWo angle was being run, Sting chose to be a neutral. He didn’t join any side but he did stand up when justice was needed to be served.

It’s this same trait of Sting that came out at Survivor Series when he avoided Triple H from screwing Dolph Ziggler.

Ziggler is one of those superstars who were treated very badly by the Authority and there are certain names like Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns who could fall right into that list alongside the Show off.

Even though the Authority officially ended last night, Triple H and whoever comes in might still carry out the ill treatment of deserving ones. Sting could end up being an enforcer of justice in the company and could easily stay like that all the way to WrestleMania where he could run an angle with Undertaker.

#3 A feud with John Cena

Just because Sting helped to end the Authority’s reign doesn’t mean that he is a babyface. We’ve only seen five minutes from the icon so far and it’s hard to draw conclusions about his alignment.

Triple H promised that Team Cena would be fired if the Authority wins and if Sting since that didn’t happen, Cena will still be on the payroll. What if that was the intention of Sting?

WWE could run an angle where Sting has great friction with the Cenation leader and only helped his team to win so that he could personally take out Cena. Sting’s debut needs to be a great one and there aren’t many names that could be a better candidate than Cena to put Sting over in the WWE.

And of course it would also serve the purpose of turning Cena heel even if it’s for a short period.

#2 Vince McMahons Hitman

Vince McMahon and the stipulation he added was something that laid the foundation well for Survivor Series to become a success.

If it wasn’t for Vince, the main event would’ve been just another match ending in Sting’s debut, but the Authority being taken out of power changes the game.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have been the undisputed Authority figures in WWE for more than a year now and the storyline could explain that it was their failure that forced Vince to add such a stipulation.

Since Vince was too old to get in between the ropes with Hunter and take out him physically, he hired a muscle, Sting. This power struggle angle between Vince and Hunter could run all the way to next year’s WrestleMania and end with a match involving Sting and Triple H which could also be the debut of Sting.

#1 The New Authority Figure

At the age of 55, you cannot expect Sting to be a regular wrestler in the WWE. He spent the good part of his career in TNA and WCW and there isn’t much left in the tank physically when it comes to the Icon.

He could wrestle a match or two if the run is long enough but WWE will have to keep him busy in between all those gaps rather than letting Sting skip shows like Brock Lesnar (remember him?).

With the Authority gone, the position of WWE’s top authority figure is left empty and Sting could easily fill that void. He could be the next general manger of Raw and go on to have a revolutionary run.

Sting could end up being the savior that WWE Universe was looking for a long time and the WWE could turn around their product upside down with Sting as the face.
