WWE Monday Night Raw Preview : 28 July, 2014

The Toyota centre at Houston is all set to welcome the WWE roster on Monday with the expectations of seeing a solid combination of in ring action and segments for this weeks Raw.WWE made big strides towards SummerSlam on the last edition after a forgettable Battleground and almost all the seeds sown might get some watering this time.Lesnar returning and challenging Cena for the title is simply the biggest angle from the lot as it is the only match made for SummerSlam at this point. There is a lot of pressure on the writers to have a credible buildup as the company is closing down to Network renewals so here is a look at some of the things that they could pull off to make sure that the fans in Texas go home happy.

#5 The mocking continues

Paige turning heel last week has raised the stock of WWE’s divas division to heights that it hasn’t seen in years. Having two immensely talented divas running a top angle is all that the division needed and they are having just that now.

After the expected turn, Paige was out to mock AJ Lee and looked charismatic when she did that. With just days into her new alignment, the Anti – diva is giving performances like she was born to be a heel against AJ Lee.

The champion’s response has been cold so far but it would only be a matter of time before AJ unleashes the crazy girl inside her.

A collision between the two is a must happen scenario this week and hopefully WWE wouldn’t mess up a good divas angle this time.

#4 Maniac on the loose

People who followed the some Independent wrestling would be familiar with the limits that Ambrose used to push himself to make the fans happy. The Money in the Bank match was just a glimpse of it and Shield splitting up has allowed him to reinvent his old character in WWE.

He is simply a maniac on the loose who has no control over himself. Ambrose will not settle down till he gets his hands on Rollins and make him pay for everything he has done since breathing his first breath.

Last week, it was Cesaro who turned out to be the scape goat for Ambrose and the duo produced two great matches at well.

It’s probably going to be a whole different story this time as the company would want to have enough time to build the Rollins – Ambrose match at SummerSlam.

#3 Cesaros future

WWE have messed up Cesaro’s career big time over the past few months and he is right now staring into the abyss with only a little poke needed for him to drop into it.

Lesnar’s return has also taken Paul Heyman from his side leaving the fans questioning whether the association has ended permanently. WWE is yet to give an answer for the question though they hinted it on their website that this might be for the long run.

Last week, Cesaro was running a program with Dean Ambrose which was designed to put the lunatic fringe over than help the Swiss Superman. Ambrose is going to have his feud with Rollins leaving Cesaro unattended once again this week.

The direction in which he gets pushed would be something to watch out for this week just like the last outing as it didn’t bear any fruit.

#2 Stephanies revenge

Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon played the protagonist of an entertaining angle last week which received a wild response from the WWE Universe.

Stephanie got arrested in an embarrassing way in the end which meant that Brie drew first blood in the feud which might be one of WWE’s big programs for SummerSlam.

Nikki Bella might pay the price for her sister’s sin this week and one can only wonder what would be worse than a four on one handicap match. At the same time, Brie cannot be counted out from making another appearance.

It’s arguably one of the best angles that WWE has produced recently and the WWE Universe would have no hesitation in taking the plunge.

#1 Answer from the champion

The biggest news that came out of last week was the return of Brock Lesnar. Heyman’s client who ended the legendary streak of Undertaker was introduced as a plan c on last week’s Raw meaning that he is out to end Cena’s WWE title reign.

Heyman delivered one of his trademark promos to build up heat for the match at SummerSlam but Cena’s absence was a big flow at all levels.

Cena having a confrontation with either Lesnar or Heyman would’ve made a bigger impact but the company couldn’t pull that off since the Cenation leader was busy with a film project.

However, he will be present on Monday night to answer the challenge made by the Beast. Lesnar apparently is scheduled to miss this week’s Raw but the presence of Heyman would be enough to push forward the angle.
