5 problems WWE still needs to fix

Change is in the air!

WWE made a lot of changes on Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live this week, kicking off what many fans hope will be a new era in WWE. They even managed to hire Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman as executive managers, which has a lot of fans excited about the company returning to the attitude era in some form or another.

It is also a good sign that WWE is willing to do whatever it takes to make their fans happy and thus create a vibrant product again. Unfortunately for the fans, the company is still not without its faults and has to make a few more serious changes in order to get everyone on the same page again.

In the end, WWE is making a lot of changes to the product, but these are the five problems that the company still needs to fix. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us what problems you believe the company needs to fix in the next couple of months.

#5 Several stars still missing

Finn Balor has also been missing in action for quite a while now!
Finn Balor has also been missing in action for quite a while now!

Believe it or not, WWE is still missing several of their top superstars and its starting to become more and more noticeable by the week. It started innocently enough with WWE keeping Finn Balor off of television sporadically after Money in The Bank and then again after Supershowdown, but then stars like Roman Reigns, Asuka, Kairi Sayne, and several others went missing as well.

The worst part about all of this is that it not only kills the momentum the superstar would have had if they were a part of the weekly product, it also sends a confusing message to the fans about what's going on. In all seriousness, this problem has only become worse by the company not being able to explain the disappearance and it's not going to get better until the company acknowledges what's going on.

#4 Smackdown Live still suffering

Smackdown Live is getting better, but it's not where it should be yet.
Smackdown Live is getting better, but it's not where it should be yet.

Smackdown Live got noticeably better the first week of July and will most likely continue to do so, but it's still not at the level that fans are expecting it to be. While some of that has to do with the impossible expectations set forth by The WWE Universe and the fact that Smackdown Live has less time to it, the company hasn't filled that time particularly well either.

Again, this is something that will most likely change as time goes on and the company figures out that sweet spot of things that don't work and do, but it's not going to be an immediate thing. Unfortunately for the fans, that means they are going to have to deal with Smackdown Live being the b show for a little bit longer

In the meantime, The WWE Universe is just going to have to focus on the positive changes that the company has made to the blue brand and hope that those changes continue coming in the future!

#3 Still giving Shane McMahon tv time

Shane McMahon needs to be taken off of television.
Shane McMahon needs to be taken off of television.

Shane McMahon is one of the hottest heels in all of WWE right now, but for some reason or another, The WWE Universe still doesn't want him getting the amount of television time he is. In fact, they believe it takes spots away from more deserving superstars and is just a remake of The Authority that ruled WWE with an iron fist for years.

With that in mind and fans getting angrier and angrier about Shane McMahon's involvement on television, it is a little surprising that the company hasn't canned the gimmick yet or found a way to write him off television. In fact, WWE has seemed to ignore fans pleas for this to stop and continue to push on with his and Drew McIntyre's match against Roman Reigns and The Undertaker

Maybe WWE will finally end the reign of terror at Extreme Rules, especially since it would be a good chance for Roman Reigns to finally vanquish his rivalry and it would also be the perfect excuse to get him off television. That remains to be seen and will depend on what they believe is best for business, but one can't imagine this lasting much longer.

#2 Less focus on women's evolution

Is WWE turning its back on The women's revolution?
Is WWE turning its back on The women's revolution?

Weren't we supposed to still be in the middle of a women's revolution?

While there were indeed a few women's matches on both Raw and Smackdown Live this week, they were largely relegated to minimized segments and didn't get much time to show what they could do. Not only did the storytelling of all the women involved suffer as a result of this, but it also put out what was otherwise a white-hot revolution on the part of the female athletes.

Even Becky Lynch, who is the current Raw Women's champion was coupled with her boyfriend, Seth Rollins in hopes of hyping up their mixed match tag team match at Extreme Rules. Of course, there's nothing wrong with doing that and the company deserves credit for bringing their relationship on screen, but not at the expense of the women's division.

With that being said, maybe it was just an off week for the division and the storytelling will get more time to be fleshed out in the coming weeks. If not, however, WWE is at risk of hurting one of their most valuable overarching storylines and giving up on something that was truely a powerful movement.

#1 forgetting about The Firefly funhouse.

What did WWE do to the firefly funhouse?
What did WWE do to the firefly funhouse?

Where the hell is the firefly funhouse?

The segment was one of WWE's biggest rating grabbers over the past couple of weeks and while it was gaining momentum with its deep storytelling, The WWE ditched it for one reason or another. It hasn't even been mentioned on WWE television in two weeks, which is a bad sign for the once white-hot segment.

Beyond that, it shows WWE once again being out of touch with what fans want and doing what they think is best for business. Now, that doesn't mean every decision WWE has made over the last week or so is bad. In fact, many of their efforts to improve the shows have actually helped, but taking away the firefly funhouse was a mistake.

In the end, one would have thought the funhouse segment would have thrived with WWE's edgier booking taking place this week, but it turned out not to be the case. Unfortunately for Wyatt, this could mean another repackaging before long or the company trying to rush him to television to make up for lost time, which could hurt it in the long run.
