Best Jeanist may not look threatening in My Hero Academia, but he is among the best fighters in the series.

Currently ranked number three on the Pro Hero leaderboards, Best Jeanist is a highly technical combatant. He mainly relies on his Fiber Master Quirk, which allows him to control different types of clothes.

Best Jeanist is quite the underrated fighter in My Hero Academia. He isn't flashy like most Pro Heroes, but he can get the job done. There is a reason why he lasted a bit longer against All For One than his comrades did.

Here's a look at his best and worst matchups in My Hero Academia.

My Hero Academia characters that Best Jeanist can definitely beat

4) Nejire Hado (Nejire Chan)

Nejire Hado is highly regarded for her vitality. Her Quirk, Wave Motion, can knock out giant villains, as seen in the Shie Hassaikai arc.

However, Best Jeanist does have a trick up his sleeve against an opponent like Nejire. Blackout Bind is a Super Move that allows him to suffocate his opponents and put them to sleep. He doesn't have to physically overpower Nejire. He just needs to incapacitate her through unconventional means.

3) Tamaki Amajiki (Suneater)

Tamaki Amajiki can be a very tricky fighter in My Hero Academia because of his Manifest Quirk. Anything he eats can be converted into a brand new power, such as clamshells and octopus tentacles. During the Shie Hassaikai arc, he defeated three Yakuza members by himself.

With that said, Best Jeanist could easily tank direct attacks from Tamaki. Keep in mind that he survived devastating injuries from All For One. He also has experience fighting multiple enemies, such as the Nomu from the Kamino Incident.

Best Jeanist would need to knock out Tamaki while the latter is restrained via Blackout Bind. He can also use Tamaki's clothing against him.

2) Yu Takeyama (Mt. Lady)

Mt. Lady is among the strongest female characters in My Hero Academia. She is quite a powerful fighter, given that she can turn into a giant. With a height of 2,062 centimeters, she has great reach over her opponents. Best Jeanist would have to carefully avoid her attacks.

For this particular fight, Best Jeanist could easily manipulate the clothing fibers of Mt. Lady. Given her larger size, he has a lot of material at his disposal.

Best Jeanist would simply have to restrain her, which means he can bypass her endurance and claim his victory.

1) Katsuki Bakugo

The U.A. student worked directly under Best Jeanist during the Hero Killer arc. Both these characters know each other very well.

Bakugo is among the strongest Class 1-A students in My Hero Academia. His powerful Explosion Quirk can be used for offensive and evasive purposes. Of course, Best Jeanist still has several more years of experience. He is fully aware of what Bakugo is capable of.

Best Jeanist would likely have to resort to a Blackout Bind just to deal with Bakugo. His superior technique would allow him to manipulate such threads very quickly. Keep in mind that Best Jeanist caught All For One off guard during the Hideout Raid, and he's easily the strongest villain in My Hero Academia.

4) Shinya Kamihara (Edgeshot)

Edgeshot may be ranked lower than Best Jeanist on the Pro Hero leaderboards. However, the former is a very poor matchup for the latter.

For starters, Edgeshot is significantly faster than Best Jeanist. The Ultra Analysis book for My Hero Academia lists the former's speed at 6/6, while the latter is only at 3/6.

Foldabody will give Best Jeanist some major problems. Edgeshot can become extremely long and thin, allowing him to escape clothing fibers. Best Jeanist mostly relies on capturing his opponents, so he will have a difficult time here.

Edgeshot can also quickly choke him out with Thousand Sheet Pierce, which he demonstrated in the Hideout Raid against the League of Villains.

3) Mirio Togata (Lemillion)

Best Jeanist's Fiber Master will likely not work against Mirio Togata, simply because his costume is made from his own hair.

Moreover, Mirio's Permeation Quirk allows him to become intangible. He would phase through most attacks within an instant.

Like most characters in My Hero Academia, Best Jeanist is at a severe disadvantage here. There isn't anything he can realistically do against Mirio.

Mirio's Phantom Menace is also a powerful combo attack that would deal heavy damage to Best Jeanist.

2) Enji Todoroki (Endeavor)

Endeavor can burn most objects to a crisp with Hellflame. It's among the strongest offensive Quirks in My Hero Academia. During the Pro Hero arc, he incinerated a powerful Nomu with PLUS ULTRA Prominence Burn.

Best Jeanist has no means of protecting himself from Hellflame. Even a regular Prominence Burn would be devastating.

Endeavor is simply too fast and too strong to keep up with.

1) All For One

My Hero Academia fans have already seen this matchup during the Hideout Raid arc. Best Jeanist put up a good fight but was eventually overpowered by the villain.

All For One can easily break out of the Fiber Master technique, so capturing him is impossible. Best Jeanist hasn't gotten any stronger since their last encounter, so a rematch would likely end with the same result.
