Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9 spoilers confirm Kurama's return, prompting many to engage in discussions about what this means for the story moving forward. However, this was not all, as the chapter also featured an encounter between Boruto and Kawaki, which resulted in another Karma Resonance that played a significant role.

This event was predicted by fans in recent days, and now that it has been confirmed, some have speculated that Boruto's sudden departure could indicate a possible melding with Momoshiki. While this theory appears to be a stretch at the moment, it does have a degree of validity and could have far-reaching consequences for several characters in the story.

Explaining the theory of Boruto possibly melding with Momoshiki after the recent Karma Resonance

Boruto flew away in chapter 9, as his Karma began to resonate with Kawaki, possibly to avoid melding with Momoshiki because he did not want to escalate the fight with the latter.

As per a theory posted on X and Reddit, the new version of Boruto can remain in control when it comes to the effects of Karma Resonance but Momoshiki's traits show up during fights. This is evident in the post-time skip version of the character, especially when contrasting and comparing how he is while fighting and when he is simply talking with other people.

This is a version of the character who doesn't want to engage in battle when it's not necessary and doesn't talk very much, but when he is in combat, the traits of Momoshiki begin to kick in. He becomes a bit more arrogant and boastful in battle, which can be simply a way for author Masashi Kishimoto to hype up Naruto's son after the time skip, but it could also be a foreshadowing of what is to come in the near future.

The theory also suggests that Boruto's thoughts begin to merge with Momoshiki during combat, which could explain the personality change. However, after all the training he went through, he is now strong enough to keep himself in control and not give in, which is something that could be set up for future problems for him in the series.

The recent encounter between the protagonist and Kawaki was instrumental in determining their current state of affairs when it comes to their Karma, which is now back at the forefront as a major topic in the fandom. It was initially theorized that Naruto's son had full control of his Karma but recent events seem to have cast doubts in that regard.

However, it also shows how much the character has improved and Kawaki's constant desire to destroy him, which is something that the story is bound to address in the coming chapters. It seems that Kishimoto is setting up the manga for these two characters to have a memorable confrontation, although it might be too soon to make that assumption.

Final thoughts

It makes a lot of sense that a lot of people might be assuming that the protagonist could be melding with Momoshiki, but there could be a lot more to interpret. There is the possibility that he is in full control, but some of Momoshiki's influence is creeping in, which is shown throughout his boastful personality in battle.
