Chainsaw Man chapter 130 was released on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, bringing with it the exciting continuation of Denji and Asa’s struggle for survival. While fans feel that the latest release for the series isn't a particularly exciting or progressive one, it has done a decent job of setting up what appears to be the final stand against the Falling Devil.

Chainsaw Man chapter 130 also seemingly suggests that the Fakesaw Man who saved Denji and Asa in chapter 128 has either been defeated by the Falling Devil or is in cahoots with them. In either case, fans seem set for a very interesting and likely revelatory issue when author and illustrator Tatsuki Fujimoto returns with the subsequent release next week.

Chainsaw Man chapter 130 sees Denji and Asa’s hellish pursuer arrive in Tokyo alongside the Falling Devil

Chainsaw Man chapter 130: Denji and Asa’s wild ride

Chainsaw Man chapter 130 begins where the last issue ended, showing Denji and Asa still riding the chainsaw motorcycle around Tokyo and through attacking tentacles. Denji comments on how he didn’t know he could turn a bike “all badass,” clearly not recognizing that the motorcycle is the result of Asa’s powers.

Asa, who is holding onto Denji’s back with her eyes closed shut, comments on how Fakesaw Man said that outrunning the tentacles until morning is the key to surviving. Denji seemingly ridicules her for believing “that fake,” but Asa responds that they did save them from the Falling Devil. Denji doesn’t reply to Asa's comment.

Chainsaw Man chapter 130’s next page sees roughly a dozen tentacles come together in the sky before swarming Denji and Asa all at once. Denji is able to dodge some of them by going up the side of a nearby building, seemingly slicing the ones he missed in half with the chainsaw bike as he escapes.

The issue then shows the Devil with a priest-like appearance who first attacked Denji and Asa when they went to hell in chapter 128. The Devil puts its hands where its eyes would be if it had them, as the issue shifts perspectives back to Tokyo. As Denji and Asa continue riding on the side of a building, one of the tentacles hovers above and follows them.

Chainsaw Man chapter 130 then sees the tentacle transform into a rendition of the Devil, which then morphs its right hand into a giant mallet. It takes a swing at Denji and Asa, destroying the building they’re riding on and forcing them to go back down to the ground. The transformed tentacle keeps chasing them as Denji wonders what kind of Devil it even is.

Asa then says they need to look out ahead, revealing that the Falling Devil has ripped an entire building out of the ground and is now floating it in the air. With a wave of her finger, she launches the building at them roof-first, having it crash into the ground with a massive shockwave of debris and dust floating in the air.

Thankfully, Chainsaw Man chapter 130 reveals that Asa and Denji are just fine, using the motorcycle’s chainsaw to shred their way through the building and survive the attack. The two then finally escape through one of the building’s windows. However, as they jump out into the air, they see the Devil, now with a giant mouth for a stomach, waiting for them as the issue ends.

Chainsaw Man chapter 129: In summation

Unfortunately, there’s not much to say about Chainsaw Man chapter 130, with the issue seemingly serving the purpose of transitioning into whatever’s coming next for the current arc. Essentially the only thing of note to happen in the episode is the implication that the Falling Devil escaped Fakesaw Man, begging the question of if the latter was defeated or if the two are in cahoots.

While the appearance of the priest-like Devil in Tokyo is unexpected and adds additional drama, its impact is somewhat mitigated by the fact that it does nothing substantial in the issue. The major attack sent Denji and Asa’s way comes from the Falling Devil, although for setting up the two for being ensnared in the unnamed Devil’s stomach-mouth trap.
