Chainsaw man

Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen in December 2018 and soon became an unremarkable session worldwide. After the conclusion of its first arc in December 2020, Chainsaw Man manga made its awaited return in July 2022, marking the beginning of its second arc. As of February 2024, Chainsaw Man has released 156+ chapters, compiled in 16 volumes.

The series takes its readers into a world where fear takes a tangible form: Devils. In this world, the fears of humans take the form of a devil. The more intense their fear is, the stronger the devil will become, like the Gun Devil.

Chainsaw Man beautifully combines the concepts of horror, action, and dark humor in a single frame.

Summary of Chainsaw Man

Denji, a poverty-stricken teenager, works day and night to pay off his father's debt. Even going as far as selling parts of his body to escape the endless cycle of debt, but just couldn’t escape it. As he had accepted his fate, he is betrayed and killed by the man he worked for, just to use him as a sacrifice for the Zombie Devil. However, his pet devil, Pochita, saves his life by merging with him and becoming his heart.

This act of sacrifice brings Denji back to life, and he becomes a Devil-human hybrid with the ability to transform parts of his body into Chainsaw Man. Just when he thought he might be in the clear, he encounters Makima, a devil hunter. This is when Makima makes Denji an offer, to join the Public Safety Division to hunt down powerful Devils or die at the hands of devil hunters as a human-devil hybrid is considered a threat to society.

For the sake of survival and to fulfill his promise to Pochita, Denji joins the Public Safety Division to hunt Devils and faces betrayal, manipulation, and loss along the way.
