The Misfit of Demon King Academy II part 2 episode 3 was released on April 26, 2024, and the animation gave fans a foul surprise that no one was expecting. While it is one of the best fantasy genre anime series, the same couldn't be said about its animation.

The episode featured Anos' class training to hunt dragons under their teacher's supervision. Although the test started with an easy race to a tree, it suddenly escalated to avoiding dragons that were continuously attacking the students. However, for fans, the spotlight of this episode was the below-par animation of these dragons.

An X user, @AniNewsAndFacts shared a clip featuring the CGI dragons and expressed their disappointment over them. In response to the tweet, some fans agreed and called it a disappointment. Meanwhile, others claimed to have been taken aback by the nostalgia and compared the CGI to the 2016 Berserk anime adaptation.

Fans react to the CGI dragons in The Misfit of Demon King Academy II part 2 episode 3

The Misfit of Demon King Academy II part 2 episode 3 was released on April 26, 2024. It featured Anos Voldigord, the series' protagonist, and his classmates visiting a nearby field, alongside their teacher, for dragon-slaying training.

Before they started the main training, the teacher suggested they play a game of tag, following which, three students began mocking the teacher. The teacher ordered them to touch the nearby tree, without using any magic, in under three minutes. As soon as he started the time, the students started running towards the tree.

However, when they got close to the tree, a dragon popped out of the ground and sent them flying. The teacher declared that their class for the day would be to avoid getting eaten by the dragons. The students could be resurrected unless they were devoured by the mythical creature, so the game started.

Before any student could step forward, Anos entered the field and lured the dragons towards himself. As soon as they reached him, he commanded them to kneel and they complied, and Anos left with them to their nest.

However, it was the CGI of these dragons that had fans feeling disappointed. One X user, @AniNewsAndFacts, even posted about how below-standard and strange it looked.

As expected, the majority of the fandom agreed with the X user and criticized The Misfit of Demon King Academy II part 2 episode 3 for its CGI. Some fans questioned how the production team approved this episode as a "finished product" as the CGI could use some polishing.

Others expressed their grief and sadness over witnessing such a bad animation. While some said that it "physically hurt" them to watch the animation, others blamed the animators for being lazy and claimed that they were cutting corners.

"Okay in what way does this even look like a finished product," a fan said
"This is just lazy work," another one said
"Ouch. That physically hurts to watch," another fan claimed

The majority of the fandom compared this bad CGI to the notorious anime adaptation of Berserk from 2016. The anime adaptation could be one of the worst animated anime series, as claimed by the fandom.

Not only did it feature a below-par animation and CGI, among other things, but the sound effects in the series could also pass as random noises. The majority of the fandom declared this Berserk anime adaptation better than The Misfit of Demon King Academy II CGI dragons, signifying how bad the latter's animation was.

Some fans compared The Misfit of Demon King Academy II CGI dragons to Arifureta, which could also be considered one of the worst animated anime series. The monsters in the latter series were entirely based on CGI, leading to the whole series being a bad experience for fans with many even calling it "torture." Arifureta was also declared better than The Misfit of Demon King Academy II CGI dragons.

"Maybe Berserk 2016 is alright actually," a fan claimed
"Nah berserk 2016 did better than this sh*t. Holy f*ck what did I watch," another fan said
"Oh no. Arifuerta wasn't even this bad," a fan claimed

A group of fans declared The Misfit of Demon King Academy II CGI dragons disgusting. They claimed it was unacceptable to feature such an amateurish animation. A fan addressed the elephant in the room and claimed that the series had lost its spotlight after its first season, after which its animation and story went below average.

Another fan claimed that anime had fallen in every aspect, be it animation, story, or anything else, and blamed the isekai genre for it.

"That is some disgusting cgi," a fan claimed.
"Damn, this show has fallen since season 2 started," another one claimed.
"Anime standards have fallen in just about every aspect. Animation, story, characters, lore, depth, style and varied fresh genres. I blame Isekai," another fan said.

Since the late 2010s, every season has been accompanied by a lot of isekai series. This could mean that anime studios could be animating these series just to make money, and not pay attention to the animation, fans believe. Overall, it seemed like fans weren't too pleased with The Misfit of Demon King Academy II part 2 episode 3
