Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235 could very well be a major milestone for the series as it seems that Satoru Gojo has defeated Ryomen Sukuna. The fight and rivalry between these two characters has reached grand levels, and the latest chapter of Gege Akutami's manga seems to suggest that Gojo has won, gaining the title of the strongest.

Now, while Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235 has made major steps in cementing Gojo's victory and his dominance over Sukuna, the way this chapter ended could lead to some interpretations. After all, Akutami doesn't usually play things straight in this series and could include some major twists in the upcoming chapters.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235 seemingly shows Satoru Gojo's victory over Sukuna

The previous chapter showed how Sukuna gained the upper hand over Gojo with the use of Mahoraga and a fusion of several Shikigami, eventually creating Agito. This posed a lot of problems for Gojo, who tried to come up with different tactics and strategies to deal with this situation.

However, the most notorious cliffhanger was Gojo getting his right arm cut off, which put the entire Jujutsu Kaisen fandom into a frenzy. There were much online discussions about what was going to happen now and how Gojo could deal with this 3 vs. 1 situation, which Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235 explained in great detail.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235 summary

The chapter begins as Gojo regrows his arm with his Reversed Cursed Technique, and Agito is crushed in the background. As the sorcerer's levels of intensity grows after the use of two Black Flashes, he uses a third one on Mahoraga. Meanwhile, Sukuna becomes anxious for the first time and tries to attack Satoru, who makes a block, does a fourth Black Flash, and throws him at Mahoraga.

Gojo decides to use Red technique and throws it to the skies, which confuses Sukuna because tries to make Mahoraga tank it. However, he then realizes that the Blue technique that destroyed Agito is still active, after which the King of Curses asks his Shikigami to keep both attacks from merging. Gojo uses a chant to boost Blue and then pulls his Hollow Purple attack.

Meanwhile, Yuta apologizes to Kusakabe before the attack clashes, saying that he would have been a hindrance on the battlefield. Hollow Purple hits Sukuna and destroys a chunk of the city. With the King of Curses being left in an awful state and Mahoraga's wheel is destroyed, Yuji Itadori remarks that Gojo has won the battle.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235 analysis

The Sukuna and Gojo debate has been going on since the inception of the series, so it's not surprising to see many Gojo fans enjoying this chapter's resolution. However, one thing that has defined Gege Akutami as a mangaka is that he rarely takes the easy way out, and this battle could be another example of that.

However, this chapter had been built up for a few weeks ago. While it seemed that Gojo was against the wall, he managed to make great use of his tactical know-how and get the most out of his abilities to distract both Mahoraga and Sukuna, which, in theory, gave him his victory.

In general terms, the chapter focused mostly on Gojo's final trump card, which was a mixture of his most powerful techniques and a good understanding of his opponent's mindset. He was able to read Sukuna's moves before he made them and set up everything to get him, which resulted in the King of Curses being mortally wounded and ending the battle.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235 review

Generally speaking, it was a solid chapter since it focused mainly on the action and the resolution of the main battle. Gege Akutami has given his best in depicting this fight in terms of paneling and sequences, which has helped a lot in delivering the kind of quality that this long-awaited battle deserved.

Perhaps the biggest complaint would be that there wasn't much room for characterization in this chapter, but that wasn't the focus either. While several fans have mentioned that this battle has taken months in real life, there is a strong argument to be made that it reads a lot better in one sitting, which is another factor worth taking into account.

All in all, it was a solid conclusion. Yet, it's going to be interesting to see how will Sukuna react in the upcoming chapter and what will Kenjaku do now that the King of Curses has been defeated by Satoru Gojo. The other question that remains is that how would the remaining cast contribute to the story with Sukuna going out of the picture.
