This sorcerer was Aoi Todou who saved Hana Kurusu from dying at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna's Black Flash technique by coming in front of her in the nick of time.
It's not every day that the King of Curses appreciates someone for their skills, but Aoi got some praise from him due to his intellectual thinking. Even in the past, Aoi had always been there for anyone in trouble and is willing to sacrifice his all for his friends, with the prime example being his closest friend, Itadori.

Exploring how Aoi beat Yuji as a Jujutsu sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 commenced where it left off in the previous chapter as Hana Kurusu appeared on the battlefield and hit Sukuna with a fully powered Jacob's Ladder. The King of Curses analyzed the situation and realized that as her cursed technique was not pointed at him, it would equally affect Aoi and Yuji too.
So, he took a gamble and rushed towards her while being hit with Jacob's Ladder. Hana became wary of Sukuna and also tried to escape. Sukuna mocked Angel, the cursed spirit that resides inside Hana, and called her out by saying that she was inside a weak vessel due to which she would now die for good.

The King of Curses then loaded a Black Flash technique and directed it towards Hana Kurusu. In the nick of time, Aoi Todou used Boogie Woogie and arrived in front of Hana Kurusu and got hit by Sukuna's Black Flash technique instead.
Sukuna smirked at the cursed sorcerer and called him a true Jujutsu sorcerer, as he arrived at the eleventh hour to save one of his comrades. The impact of Sukuna's Black Flash technique sent both Aoi and Kurusu flying to the ground, after which Itadori took over the fight.
Aoi Todou is a third-year at the Kyoto Branch of Jujutsu High and the former disciple of special-grade sorcerer Yuji Tsukumo. He made his first appearance during the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc. After looking at Itadori's potential to grow, he decided to help him become an exceptional sorcerer by offering his assistance.

It was one of the few chances where Aoi was proved as a true Jujutsu sorcerer, someone who helps others grow and mature.
He saved Maki and Fushigoro from Hanami and fought the unregistered cursed spirit with Itadori. He didn't help Itadori after teaching him the basics because he wanted Itadori to get practical experience himself.
After this arc, he appeared during the Shibuya arc to again help Itadori in his fight against Mahito. Aoi even lost his hand during the fight but didn't despair and tried his best to exorcise the cursed spirit before his friend could get injured.
During the final fight against Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen, Aoi appeared when Itadori lost Choso at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna, and instead of giving him false hope about anything good, he just urged him to keep fighting. His care for his fellow sorcerers could be why Ryomen Sukuna praised him and called him a 'true' Jujutsu sorcerer.
