The Big 3 of UA then take charge of the fight against Shigaraki to buy time until Deku arrives. Shigaraki plans to use Bakugo to enrage Deku, taunting Bakugo that he’ll always be overshadowed by OFA. Nejire attacks Shigaraki, who uses Bakugo as a shield, forcing Nejire to redirect her attack. A flashback reveals Mirio’s plan to buy time and keep Shigaraki away from Bakugo, but their efforts prove ineffective against Shigaraki/AFO’s overwhelming power.

A newscaster mentions upcoming rain. Bakugo’s parents express concern since he hates rain. At the sky coffin, the heroes recover from the attack while Shigaraki/AFO declares that now it’s his time to shine with his newly completed vessel. The episode concludes with Jeanist preparing to tend to Bakugo’s wounds, only to realize that the attack has ruptured Bakugo’s heart.
