On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for A Couple of Cuckoos season 2 unveiled a new promotional video and key visual. According to the short clip, the series will premiere on July 8, 2025. Additionally, the video revealed the anime's opening theme song, Kimi ga Kureta Mono, by asmi.
Produced by Okuruto Noboru, A Couple of Cuckoos season 2 is a sequel to the previous season, which released 24 episodes from April 2022 to October 2022 in consecutive cours. The series itself serves as an adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa's eponymous manga series. The manga has been serialized on Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since January 2020, with 27 volumes released thus far.
A Couple of Cuckoos season 2 new trailer reveals July 8, 2025 release date and asmi's opening theme song
According to the main promotional video from the official staff, A Couple of Cuckoos season 2 will air its episodes every Tuesday at 11 pm JST on Tokyo MX, BS Nippon TV, KB Kyoto, and Sun TV, starting July 8, 2025. The series will also stream on ABEMA and d Anime Store in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream the sequel internationally and host the premiere screening at Anime Expo 2025 on July 3, 2025.
The new trailer features the beloved characters, including Erika, Nagi, and highlights the sequel's major plot points. Additionally, the short clip reveals and previews the show's opening theme song, Kimi ga Kureta Mono (What you gave me), performed by the Japanese singer asmi. 22/7 performs season 2's ending theme, Anata de Nakucha.
Furthermore, the staff unveiled a new key visual for A Couple of Cuckoos season 2. The illustration features the main character Nagi Umino, Ai Mochizuki, Hiro Segawa, Erika Amano, and Sachi Umino, with season 2's logo at the top. In the visual, the heroines are seen looking at Nagi.
A Couple of Cuckoos season 2 features the returning cast members, with Akari Kito as Erika, Konomi Kohara as Sachi, Nao Toyama as Hiro, Kaito Ishikawa as Nagi, Ryohei Kimura as Yohei, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Souichiro, Yukiko Ritsuko, and others. Hina Youmiya has joined the new season as Ai Mochizuki.

Masakazu Hishida directs the rom-com anime at Okuruto Noboru, with Jou Aoba handling the series scripts. Kyoko Chika is the show's character designer, while Rei Ishizuka is the music composer. Other staff members include Kiyomi Yamada as the editor, Hoshino Kainuma as the photography director, Ryuta Hayashi as the art director, and others.
