The Dangers in My Heart's new spinoff series announcement and other information
As mentioned earlier, the popular manga series by Norio Sakurai, The Dangers in My Heart, announced the launch of a new spinoff series for the title, named Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu Love Comedy ga Hajimaranai, this Friday, June 6, 2025, via their official X account.
The new spinoff series will mostly feature Kyotaro Ichikawa's (the main protagonist) older sister, Kana.
The upcoming series will be illustrated by a new name in the industry, Haika Nanasaka, under the full supervision of Norio Sakurai, the mangaka and artist of the original The Dangers in My Heart manga series.
The series will come out on July 22, 2025, on Akita Shoten's Champion Cross manga website.
The original manga series was licensed by the Seven Seas Entertainment company, who also describe the plot of the story as:
"Ichikawa Kyotaro, a boy barely clinging to the bottom rung of his school's social ladder, secretly believes he's the tortured lead in some psychological thriller."
They further added:
"He spends his days dreaming up ways to disrupt his classmates' peaceful lives and pining after Anna Yamada, the class idol. But Kyotaro's not nearly the troubled teen he pretends to be...and it turns out Anna's a bit odd herself!"
The original romantic manga series The Dangers in My Heart was launched by Sakurai on Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in March 2018.
However, the manga then swiftly moved on to the Champion Cross manga website in April 2018.
Furthermore, when Champion Cross merged with Akita Shoten's other manga website Champion Tap! to form the new website Manga Cross in July 2018, the manga moved to that new site.
With Akita Shoten publishing the manga's 12th compiled book volume on Friday, June 6, 2024, Seven Seas Entertainment published the manga's 11th volume on August 5, 2024.
The Dangers in My Heart original manga series has also received an anime adaptation in April 2023 by the animation studio Shin-Ei Animation, which was featured on TV Asahi and its affiliates in the "NUMAnimation" programming block.
HIDIVE streamed the anime series as it aired in Japan.
