On Friday, June 6, 2025, Warner Bros. Japan announced that the All You Need Is Kill anime movie has been selected for screening at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025. Along with the announcement, the main cast members for the film were also revealed.
All You Need Is Kill, written by Hiroshi Sakurazaka with illustrations by Yoshitoshi Abe, is a Japanese light novel published under Shueisha's Super Dash Bunko imprint in December 2004. The light novel later received a live-action adaptation called Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.
All You Need Is Kill anime set to screen in June 2025
On Friday, June 6, 2025, Warner Bros. Japan announced that the upcoming anime adaptation of All You Need Is Kill has been officially selected for the Midnight Specials at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025.
The anime will be screened on the following dates:
- Monday, June 9 - 10:30 PM CET
- Thursday, June 12 - 11:00 PM CET
- Friday, June 13 - 10:00 PM CET
Additionally, the anime confirmed a director autograph session on June 13, between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM at Bonlieu.
Main cast revealed

Ai Mikami is set to voice Rita Vrataski. Rita is an 18-year-old volunteer known for her recognizable red hair. One day, after being involved in an accident while working, she happened to wake up the morning of the same day.
"As someone whoʼs always loved anime, it was like a dream for me to participate in this project." - Ai Mikami
Mikami shared that while she always loved anime, she was very anxious to work in one. Fortunately, on the first day of recording, she experienced a strange moment where she felt like she was breathing and living as Rita. She added that, while there are various adaptations of the light novel, the upcoming anime features a unique interpretation only possible with animation.

Ai Mikami is most notably known for her roles in Undead Lovers, Romance Battle Royale, Dear Radiance, and My So-Called Artist's Journey. She has also starred in National Treasure (released on June 6) and NHK drama Kaze, Kaoru, scheduled to air in Spring 2026.
Natsuki Hanae is set to voice Keiji Kiriya. Keiji is a shy 20-year-old system engineer who hides behind a polite smile, trying to blend in and avoid standing out. That's when an unexpected encounter with Rita awakens something buried inside him.

"Through my voice, I hope to carefully convey his despair, inner conflict, and ultimately, his resolve." - Natsuki Hanae
Natsuki Hanae shared that while his character Keiji Kiriya seemed like an ordinary man at first, experiencing deaths repeatedly gradually changed him. The voice actor hoped to convey the character's ever-changing despair, inner conflict, and resolve through his voice.
Natsuki Hanae is most notably known for voicing Kamado Tanjiro in Demon Slayer, Ken Takakura in Dandadan, Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul, Arima Kousei in Your Lie in April, and Beam in Chainsaw Man.
