On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the official website for the 9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime unveiled the second promotional video. According to the video, the series is set to be released on July 5, 2025, with a special one-hour-long premiere of the first two episodes. Additionally, the short clip revealed the details about the show's opening theme.

9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime serves as an adaptation of the Japanese visual novel by Palette. The original game was initially released for Windows in four episodes, starting from April 2017 to April 2020. Later, the VN was released on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in June 2022. Sekai Project released an English edition of the game from February 2019 to March 2021.

According to the latest promotional video from the official staff on Sunday, June 15, 2025, 9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime will air its episodes on Tokyo MX at 10 pm on July 5, 2025, with a one-hour-long premiere, featuring episodes 1 and 2.

Afterward, it will be digitally distributed on various Japanese streaming services at 10:30 pm JST on the same date. Moreover, the series will air on BS NTV channel on July 6, 2025, at 12 am JST.

The latest 9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime trailer features Miyako Kujo, Sora Niimi, and other important characters who will appear in the series. Additionally, the short clip previewed the opening theme song, ResoNAnce, performed by Araki. Chihiro Yonekura sings the ending theme, Pale Blaze.

The 9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime features the returning cast members from the original visual novel, including Misato Fukuen as Miyako Kujo, Atsumi Tanezaki as Sora Niimi, Akane Fujita as Noa, Yuri Yamaoka as Haruma, Satomi Arai as Sophitia, Kazutomi Yamamoto as Yoichi, Atsushi Abe as Kakeru, Tomokazu Sugita as Renya, and Hana Takeda as Satsuki Naruse.

Koichi Ohata directs the series at Studio PRA, with Saori Sakiguchi in charge of the character designs. Yamato handles the anime's music composition, while Keisuke Yanagi serves as the editor.

Based on the visual novel, which was released as four episodes, the series is set in the mysterious town of Shiromitsugawa, home to many unique Artifacts. These Artifacts are known to bestow superpowers to their users.

The anime will follow a story of growing trust and romance between the protagonist and the heroine. Furthermore, it also has a dash of murder mystery elements, where the characters hunt the culprit behind a series of gruesome killings.
