On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the official staff unveiled a new promotional video for the Sakamoto Days anime part 2 during the show's advance screening. The short video revealed additional cast members and the details concerning the ending theme song. Part 2 is slated to be released on July 14, 2025.
Sakamoto Days anime part 2 serves as a continuation of the original anime, which premiered in January 2025 and ran for 11 episodes til March 2025. The anime is an adaptation of Yuto Suzuki's action-comedy manga series of the same name. Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump has been serializing the manga since November 2020.
Sakamoto Days anime part 2 new trailer showcases Akira, Rion, Mafuyu, and Kanaguri
On June 15, 2025, an advanced screening for the Sakamoto Days anime part 2 was held at Toho Cinemas Shinjuku, Tokyo. During the event, the staff released the second main promotional video for the series, confirming new cast members and the show's ending theme song.
The trailer opens with Kei Uzuki, aka the Slur, asking Taro Sakamoto if he would like to try killing him again. Taro responds to Uzuki's question with a brutal assault. Following this, the trailer shifts the focus to Gaku, demonstrating his monstrous strength.
Furthermore, the PV features Akira Akao, one of the important characters who will appear in Part 2, along with Rion Akao, Mafuyu Seba, and Kanaguri. The short clip highlights intense action sequences in decent animation quality.
Moreover, the trailer uses a snippet of the new ending theme song, Dandelion by go!go!vanillas. It was previously announced that Kroi would perform the opening theme for Sakamoto Days anime part 2, Method.
The new cast members include:
- M.A.O as Akira Akao
- Mamiko Noto as Rion Akao
- Daiki Yamashita as Mafuyu Seba
- Satoshi Hino as Kanaguri
The cast members from the previous part will reprise their roles, including Tomokazu Sugita as Taro Sakamoto, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin, Ayane Sakura as Lu, Daisuke Namikawa as Kei Uzuki, and others. Other previously announced cast members are: Kosuke Toriumi as Saw, Chiaki Kobayashi as Apart, Yuko Kaida as Dump, Ryota Takeuchi as Minimalist, and Koki Uchiyama as Gaku.

Sakamoto Days anime part 2 will premiere on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 24:00 JST (effectively July 15, 2025, at 12 am JST) on Tokyo MX and other channels. The series will exclusively start on Netflix with 2 episodes on July 14, 2025. The 12th episode will stream at the same time as the show's Japanese television broadcast.
Masaki Watanabe directs the series at TMS Entertainment, with Taku Kishimoto in charge of the series scripts. Yo Moriyama is the show's character designer, while Yuki Hayashi is the music composer.
It's evident from the new trailer that the Sakamoto Days anime part 2 will continue the adaptation from chapter 38 of the original manga and focus on the Death Row Prisoners Arc and the JCC Transfer Exams Arc. As such, the new installment will show Taro Sakamoto's relationship with Akira, and his conflict with the Slur.
