Picking up the events from the previous installment, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 52, titled Each Respective Role, begins with Rimuru asking his executives whether there have been any changes to the monster eco-system.

Souei informs him that even though a Sword Grizzly ran havoc in the forest, he defeated it. Rimuru breathes a sigh of relief and feels they need to do something about the emerging monsters in the nation. At that moment, Vesta suggests placing an Anti-Magic Barrier across the highways.

When Rimuru asks him about it, he reveals that he and Kaijin have built a fully automatic magic generator that can produce a barrier by collecting magicules from the air. It's the perfect invention because the monster nation's air has a high density of magicule.

Veldora then asks Rimuru if he can let out his aura (magicule). However, the slime forbids him because it can eradicate the entire nation. Later in the episode, Rimuru receives Diablo's report as the demon butler reveals that Edmaris has been teaching Youm royal mannerisms.

He also informs Rimuru that he has lost connection with Reyhiem. According to Diablo, his men sent the Archbishop to the Holy Kingdom of Lubelius with Rimuru's message. Although he hasn't returned, Diablo assures the slime that Reyhiem is alive.
