John is a published writer with a passion for sports, gaming and all things historical. After growing up in Essex, England, he studied classics and ancient languages at Reading University before later graduating in psychology.

A huge fan of Tottenham and Colchester United in football, John discovered US sports a little later in life and chose to support Pittsburgh as a city, avidly following the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates for better or for worse. While he missed the Steelers' glory days, John did get to experience the joys of watching the Penguins lift the Stanley Cup twice.

With a background in hospitality and customer service, John has lived in Wrexham, Wales since 2013 and has witnessed first-hand the surprising rise to prominence of Wrexham FC.

When not writing, John is either watching sports, gaming or listening to audiobooks on Roman history.
