Robbie Ray was drafted by The Washington Nationals in the 12th round of the amateur draft in 2010. Robbie chose to sign with the Nationals, forgoing a scholarship to the University of Arkansas. Robbie made one appearance in his first professional season for the Vermont Lake Monsters of the New York-Penn League and pitched a perfect inning.
