
Jake Strong is a quarterback for the Texas Tech Red Raiders and will be redshirted as a freshman in 2024. Strong played three games as a rotational quarterback in 2023. He began his collegiate football career against Kansas State in 2023 and earned his first start against BYU. Strong was the seventh true freshman quarterback to start a game in the program’s history. Against the Cougars, Strong completed 19 passes out of 37 attempts for 236 yards and one touchdown. Against the Wildcats, he threw 16 times to register 173 yards for a touchdown and rushed 54 yards. Strong also appeared in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl against the California Golden Bears.
