Lathan Ransom is a safety who played his final year of college football with the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2024. Lathan Ransom went to Salpointe Catholic High School, where he registered 82 tackles, eight pass breakups, and six interceptions during his junior year. The four-star from Tucson was ranked the No.5 safety in the country and the 76th overall recruit in the class of 2020. Ransom was also selected to participate in the US Army All-American game.

Ransom began his collegiate football journey with the Ohio State Buckeyes over offers from Auburn, Arizona State, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, LSU, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and USC, among others. In his true freshman year, Ransom saw action in seven games, recording five total tackles during the COVID season. The following year, as a sophomore, Ransom recorded 38 total tackles, including a sack and five pass breakups. In 2022, Ransom witnessed a breakout campaign where he totaled 74 tackles with 1.5 sacks and three pass breakups. He was ranked third on the team in tackles and was a semi-finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award. Last season, Ransom recorded a career-high 75 total tackles and led the Buckeyes to the 2025 CFP national championship. In January 2025, Ransom declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, ending his five-year stint at Ohio State.
