Shane Bond's international career might not have lasted very long but he certainly made an impact in the time that he played. His favourite opponents were Australia, against whom he picked up 44 wickets in 17 matches. In the second match of CB series against Australia in 2007, he picked up four, including a hat-trick but it still wasn't enough for victory.

After electing to bat, Australia got off to a flyer thanks to their two openers, Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist. Going into the final over the game, Australia were looking at a total in excess of 300 and Bond was trying to limit the damage.

But he did more than that as he got rid of the two set batsmen, Andrew Symonds and Cameron White in successive balls before uprooting Nathan Bracken's stumps to claim his maiden ODI hat-trick. The hosts eventually finished on 289 but the Kiwis could only manage 184 in response to hand the Aussies a comfortable victory.
