Beginning with the most talked-about news coming from the domestic circuit, Prithvi Shaw made headlines for all the negative reasons as reports of his misconduct from the Mumbai camp have cropped up yet again.

Moving to his counterpart from the 2018 under-19 WC triumph Shubman Gill, who was fined for showing dissent at the field umpires. The Big Bash League had a field day today as it registered twin hattricks from in two separate games.

#1 Prithvi Shaw under the scanner yet again

Prithvi Shaw has been in the news for all the wrong reasons

Once tipped as the next big thing in Indian cricket, Prithvi Shaw was in the limelight again for all the negative reasons. As reported by the Times of India, a source close to the Mumbai team stated that Shaw's attitude and lack of discipline in the ongoing Ranji Trophy didn't go down well with the team manager. The source revealed:

"I wouldn’t like to cite particular instances though there’s a list of misconducts that have been reported. The last one was in Baroda. The Mumbai team manager was very angry and reported an incident. I wouldn’t like to get into details here but something’s very wrong. Someone needs to have a very clear and serious chat with him."

Shaw made a strong comeback post his doping ban but Mumbai's back-to-back defeats to Railways and Karnataka has revealed problems surrounding the talented batsman.

#2 Shubman Gill fined for dissent

Shubman Gill has been fined his entire match fees for a heated argument with the umpire in the game versus Delhi.

Prolific opener and under-19 WC winner in 2018 Shubman Gill was fined 100 percent of his match fee after getting involved in a tiff with the on-field umpires during Punjab's Ranji Trophy match against Delhi last week.

Due to this altercation, the play ay was stopped for around 10 minutes as Delhi batsman Dhruv Shorey also got involved later on. In a letter to the DDCA, BCCI general manager of cricket operation Saba Karim stated:

“We have been informed by the Match Referee P Ranganathan of your gross misbehaviour on the field of play in the captioned match... You have violated BCCI code of conduct for showing contrary to the spirit of the game during the match for which you have been fined 50 per cent of your match fees."

#3 Rashid Khan and Haris Rauf script history

Rashid Khan grabbed his fifth T20 hattrick against the Sydney Sixers and turned the game on its head.

Adelaide Strikers' spinner Rashid Khan and Melbourne Stars' pacer Haris Rauf scripted history as both completed their respective hattricks in two different BBL games in a single day.

Rashid Khan dismissed James Vince, Jack Edwards, an,d Jordan Silk to complete his hattrick in two separate overs while Rauf claimed the wickets of Matthew Gilkes, Callum Ferguson, and Daniel Sams to complete one of the most memorable days in all of BBL history.

#4 Chris Green's action deemed illegal

Sydney Thunder player Chris Green

Sydney Sixers and KKR all-rounder Chris Green was banned from bowling today after being reported for a suspect action during the Sixers' match against Melbourne Stars last week.

Green, who was bought by IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders at his base price of INR 20 lakh, was banned for three months by Cricket Australia. The statement by Cricket Australia's Head of Operations Peter RoachIin, which was published on 'cricket.com.au', stated:

"Green will be unable to bowl for a minimum of 90 days in Cricket Australia-run competitions, effective immediately. He will be permitted to play as a batter should the Thunder or Cricket NSW desire and can also play premier cricket (including bowl) under the supervision and with the consent of Cricket NSW during his suspension... After the 90-day suspension has elapsed, Green will be eligible to undergo testing once again with a view to returning to bowling."

#5 NZ's Tom Latham to miss T20I series against India

Tom Latham will be out of action for four weeks with a broken finger.

New Zeland opener Tom Latham was ruled out for four weeks following a broken finger sustained during the second innings of the third Test match against Australia. Latham, who was the stand-in captain in the third Test, lead an injury-laden NZ side that made five changes for the final Test.

Latham's injury ruled him out of the five-match T20I series against India beginning January 24 but the NZ camp is hopeful of his return for the ODI and the Test series.

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) in a statement said:
