What's the story?
The ICC stated in a press release that for televised ICC events, all participating teams will be required to provide two different colored kits, except for the host country which will be granted the right to stick to only one colored kit in all matches throughout the event. The release stated that the teams will be notified which color kit they will have to wear for each match in advance.
In case you didn't know...
In ICC tournaments, there is a rule that all the teams except the host nation, have to have two jerseys of different colours. One as the Home jersey and the other as Away jersey. England is the host nation so its all matches are home matches and is allowed to wear one jersey. England has the right to wear blue jersey and retain its kits. England have blue jersey this year, so all other teams having blue color jersey as home jersey must wear away jersey while playing against England.
The heart of the matter
So India is expected to wear Orange jersey against England on June 30 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The new jersey may have blue color splattered on the collar. This will be the first time that India may be seen sporting two different jerseys. There are speculations of Indian Cricket Team wearing the orange jersey, it is yet to be confirmed. As NIKE, the Kit suppliers have refused to comment anything about it.
South Africa wore yellow colored shirts against Bangladesh in their second match in the tournament. This game was considered as home game for Bangladesh and away game for South Africa.
Afghanistan will most probably wear their away jersey against India today at The Rose Bowl, Southampton because this game is a home game for India and away game for Afghanistan.
So whenever two teams having same color regular jersey will play against each other than one team will have to wear their away jersey.
So the teams with their away jerseys will be mostly spotted during their match against England.
