England Cricket World Cup Team

The England Cricket Team steps into this world cup as the favorites. Not only does the English conditions play in England's favor, but the English team is also one of the strongest and most well-balanced teams in the Cricket World Cup this year. England announced their 15-man squad on April 17, 2019. The squad is comprised of four genuine batsmen: Captain Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Joe Root and James Vince, two wicketkeeper-batsman: Jonny Bairstow and Jos Butler, six all-rounders: Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Tom Curran, Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson and Chris Woakes, and three bowlers out of which two are pacers: Liam Plunkett and Mark Wood, and one spinner: Adil Rashid. The squad originally included Alex Hales who was withdrawn after a ban due to recreational drug use. David Willey and Joe Denly were also a part of the provisional squad, however, they were replaced by Jofra Archer and Liam Dawson in the final squad.

Analysis of the Batting Order

The English innings is expected to be opened by Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow. At no. three England has one of the best batsmen in world cricket currently Joe Root. He would be followed by captain Morgan, Stokes and Butler. Although the position at which Stokes and Butler bat can be interchanged depending on the situation. To follow these two batsmen we would see Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer. At the tail, we will see Adil Rashid bat with Mark Wood. What makes this English team so strong is its deep batting line-up that travels till batsman number 9.

England's Bowling options

Eoin will have a lot of bowling options thanks to the six all-rounders who have been included in the English squad for this World Cup. We can expect Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali to feature in every game for Australia. Jofra Archer also seems to have his position cemented. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid are going to be the other two bowlers we can expect to see the most of in this tournament. The young Tom Curran can be expected to be included at some point in the tournament. Apart from them, England has Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett and Liam Dawson at their disposal for World Cup 2019.
