How to solve the Wisdom Puzzle in Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade has another mathematics puzzle for players to solve: The Wisdom Puzzle. While the first puzzle was relatively easy, this one is far more complex and has more routes to get to the solution. This one required me to go and seek the help of a mathematics teacher to figure out how we could possibly get to the answer. Thankfully, we have it, and now, you can also easily have the answer.

Compared to the Simple Puzzle, Stellar Blade’s Wisdom Puzzle is an absolute nightmare. Once you see a solution, it becomes incredibly easy, like any mathematics puzzle. This required sitting down and mashing our collective heads against it for quite a few minutes.

Here’s how to solve the puzzle and your rewards for doing so.

The solution to Stellar Blade’s Wisdom Puzzle is 5005. If that’s all you want to know, and wish to just go input the solution, we can’t fault you for that. Once you’ve picked up this request in Xion, all you need to do is head to the same input console you did for the Simple Puzzle and put in this solution.

There are quite a few ways to get to the solution, and they’re all correct. I tried several different things to get to the solution, and none worked. This isn’t a surprise, I’m notoriously bad at math. However, after sitting down with a friend who teaches math, we puzzled it out. Here is the question as it’s written in-game:

• 37#21 = 928
• 77#44 = 3993
• 123#17 = 14840
• 71#6 = ?

You can complete the Stellar Blade Wisdom Puzzle by a few methods. You can add/subtract, then multiply, you can do some maths that involves Squares, but we did the following:

• Subtract the number before and after the Hash sign from each other.
• Multiply each of those numbers by the difference.
• Add both of those numbers together.

A good example of this would read as follows:

• 37-21 = 16 // 37*16 = 592 and 21*16 = 336 // 592+336 = 928

This problem is essentially an unfinished Pythagorean Theorem, with the first number being the hypotenuse. The number we’re solving for in the Wisdom Puzzle is the square of the third side of the triangle.

They’re not perfect Pythagorean Triplets, but it works. Your reward is the collectible Queen of Arithmetic Badge and 1,000 gold. This request won’t help you in combat, nor will it help you fish, but it will prove you’ve solved an interesting math problem.
