JGOD is one of the most renowned Call of Duty content creators, courtesy of his in-depth analysis of Warzone 2 weapon metas, loadouts, attachments, and gameplay mechanics. He recently released a new video about the thermal weapon optic options following the increased use of smoke grenades and Cold Blooded Perk while reviewing their strengths and cons and showcasing his preferred picks.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play was introduced with the arrival of Season 3 Reloaded and pits players against each other in the ultimate battle of survival. Players must team up in groups of three and fight it out on Al Mazrah to earn eliminations and secure the coveted Warzone Victory. This also helps them rank up and unlock exclusive rewards and cosmetics.

Call of Duty expert and Warzone 2 meta analyst JGOD recently explored several new weapon optics for players to try out in the Ranked Play meta. As competition gets fierce with the discovery of new and improved tactics and playstyles, JGOD weighs in on using different thermal scopes on loadouts in Ranked Play.

Using smokes, players can block the line of sight, allowing quick rotations and ambush targets without alerting them. The Cold Blooded perk reduces your chances of being detected by enemy AI targeting systems and thermal optics. Combining these two, teams can build the ultimate stealth loadout, catching opponents off-guard.

Even though Ranked Play is still in its beta stages, the game mode offers players exclusive rewards as ranking up the competitive ladder gets tougher. Let's look at JGOD's top picks for the thermal optics in Warzone 2 Ranked Play.

1) Teplo Clear Shot

JGOD's top pick for thermal weapon optics is the Teplo Clear Shot which can be unlocked by leveling up the HCR 56 LMG to level 9. While claiming to be a neck-to-neck competition with widely-used HZ Holotherm, JGOD prefers this over the others due to the dual optics toggle with a red-dot reflex sight.

Providing a magnified 5.0x thermal vision through smokes along with the Cold-Blooded perk active, JGOD picks this optic as the clear winner also thanks to its minimal recoil reflex sight that enables a wide FOV (Field-Of-View) with little to no obstruction.

2) SZ Holotherm

The SZ Holotherm is a holographic weapon optic with a precise thermal picture and no additional magnification. This optic has thermal vision that can be toggled on and off and is a popular choice among players.

Even though the optic can recognize targets with Cold-Blooded active, the SZ Holotherm suffers from additional visual recoil that could be difficult for PC and console players to control. The SZ Holotherm can be unlocked by leveling up the PDSW 528 SMG to level 12.

3) Thermal-Optic X9

The Thermal-Optic X9 is a modern, tactical thermal holographic sight, offering 5.5x magnification through smokes and Cold-Blooded perk. It can be unlocked by leveling up the Lachmann-556 assault rifle to level 14.

While not as popular as the SZ Holotherm, this weapon optic also comes with a dual optics toggle, allowing players to get a magnified thermal vision or switch to a non-thermal sight view.
