Warzone 2.0 is the successor to the current Battle Royale hit Warzone. Activision's Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 is one of the most popular online multiplayer games today, combining COD's fast-paced FPS gunplay and exciting features of the battle royale genre.

What is Call of Duty: Warzone 2?

Players may now enter the brand-new Al Mazrah battlefield in Warzone 2.0. Significant gameplay modifications have happened, including adding a new Gulag system and improving the circle collapse mechanics. Whereas Warzone focused on mid-ranged skirmishes, Warzone 2 emphasises fight diversity and variation. The terrain is densely packed with tight chokepoints, and players can now battle under water. It's a significant shift, but it goes hand in hand with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since the two games share a progression system and arsenal.

Gameplay

Infinity Ward created the first Warzone, but development was passed over to Raven Software, which currently has complete creative control. However, the original Warzone has been renamed Warzone Caldera, and this is where you may play old maps if you want to, as none of them will be included in Warzone 2. Warzone 2 is based on the specific new mechanics from MWII. Warzone allows players to swim and fight underwater. We may dangle from ledges and utilise our sidearm, and the famed Dolphin Dive will return.

Season Details

Season 1

There were two new game modes: Warzone Cup and Mini Royale. Building 21 is a unique place in Warzone 2.0 and DMZ that promises high-value treasure. The Chimera, a new assault rifle based on the same chassis as the M13B, is even more of a short-range alternative, with a rapid rate of fire and minimal recoil.

Season 2

Infinity Ward has introduced a second map, Ashika Island, in Warzone 2.0, bringing back the smaller and faster gameplay of the first Warzone's Rebirth Island and Fortune's Keep.

When Warzone 2.0 was released, it changed the super-popular last-chance Gulag to a 2v2 combat instead of the previous 1v1 conflict. The looting mechanism was also supposed to be changed, with more treasure falling to the ground rather than remaining in the bags of deceased players.

Season 3

Plunder is a popular casual game option that reduces the stakes and introduces respawns as players hurry throughout Al Mazrah, stealing huge monetary rewards to top the scoreboard when the game concludes. Valeria, a drug runner, and Alejandro were added as operators to the game, and both can be unlocked through the battle pass.

Season 4

From official confirmation, Season 4 will launch on 14 June 2023. Vondel is confirmed - a new map between Ashika Island and Al Mazrah size. Set in the Netherlands, it depicts a large chunk of a canal-filled metropolis reminiscent of Amsterdam. There are several areas of interest to explore, including a castle, a train station, and others. A new vehicle arrives in Warzone 2.0 as an amphibious armoured carrier that isn't very quick but can drive on water and land, making it crucial for getting through all the areas.

This is the return of Nikto, an operator from the 2019 Modern Warfare. However, he is joined by four others — Io, Ana Vega, Izanami and Butch.

The Tempus Razorback, an assault rifle that delivers tremendous damage, and the ISO 45, an SMG that will also be in the battle pass that has incredible damage but a somewhat slower firing rate than other weapons in its class, are being added in season 4.

Updates in Call of Duty: Warzone 2

3rd-Person Modes

Warzone 2 will also have 3rd-person modes, much like Modern Warfare 2.

New Vehicle Mechanics

Players may shoot through windows and jump onto the vehicle's top while driving. Furthermore, for the first time, automobiles in Warzone 2.0 will respond differently to gunfire, explosions, and other hazards based on their armour and weight.

AI, Strongholds

An AI faction patrols the Al Mazrah map, protecting Strongholds and Black Sites. If you take a stronghold, you will be awarded some incredible treasure and an item that allows you to purchase one of your personalised weapons for free at buy stations.

Black Sites

Black Sites are more deadly Strongholds, but clearing them rewards you with a permanent Weapon Blueprint and much more valuable in-game goodies. These can only be obtained using a Black Site key, awarded to the first team to clear one of the current Strongholds.

Circle Splitting

During the game, Warzone 2.0 will divide into three smaller rings, only reconnecting after the fight, leading to a climactic battle between the remaining squads. This should increase excitement and, most importantly, different possibilities towards the end of a game.

FAQs

Q. What is the new game pass of Warzone 2.0 like?

A. After Season 1, the COD battle pass gets a new design and feel for Warzone 2.0. It contains an unlock system in which you earn tokens that allow you to select which tiers and rewards to unlock - with map sectors filled with goods that open when you reach specific levels or acquire a particular amount of awards.

Q. Is Warzone 2.0 free to play?

A.  The next version of Warzone retains the free-to-play status that made the first game a smash hit. That means you can play Warzone 2.0 entirely for free on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Q. Do skins and guns carry over to Warzone 2.0?

A. Infinity Ward has acknowledged that switching to a new engine is critical for Warzone, which means that when Warzone 2.0 is released, it will be a clean slate in terms of skins and guns. This implies that any unlocks you've gained in Warzone thus far will NOT carry over to the new game, nor will any weapons and operator skins you've purchased.
