George Russell is a professional British racing driver who competes in the FIA World Formula 1 Championship. For the 2025 season, he drives the No. 63 for the Mercedes Petronas AMG Formula 1 team. He started his racing career at age seven with karting. Soon, he got his first major win at the Super 1 National Kart Championship in 2007. In the karting world, he won the Kartmasters British Grand Prix before moving up to KF3 in 2011.

Born and raised in Norfolk, England, to parents Steve and Alison Russell, George Russell moved to Milton Keynes to pursue his racing career. In 2014, he made his debut at open-seater racing and won all races, such as the BRDC Formula 4, Formula Renault 2.0, and GP3 series in his rookie season. He won the 2018 FIA World Formula 2 Championship and became the youngest driver to achieve this title. In 2019, he made his F1 debut for the Toro Rosso F1 team.
