Jonathan Wheatley is a motorsport executive currently serving as the team principal for the Kick Sauber Formula 1 team. He was born on May 7, 1967, in Beaconsfield, England. He went to school in Buckinghamshire, England. After completing his graduation, Wheatley was appointed as a mechanic for the Benetton F1 team in 1991.

In 1998, he became chief mechanic for the team and won several races with Benetton before joining Renault. Wheatley was elected as the team manager for the Red Bull Racing in 2006 and worked with them for 12 years, according to his LinkedIn profile. Under his brilliant management, he was soon associated as the sporting director for the team until 2024. In 2025, he was appointed as the new team principal for the Kick Sauber F1 team and will also be responsible for Sauber’s transition to Audi from 2026.
