
Franco Colapinto is an Argentine racing driver who competes in the Formula 1 Championship with the Alpine Racing team for the 2025 season. He started his racing career at age nine and went on to win various karting leagues in Argentina. He was born in Pilar to an Italian father, Anibal Colapinto, and a Ukrainian mother, Andrea Trofimczuk. Colapinto started his single-seater racing with the Drivex racing team in the 4 Spanish Championship.
He joined Formula 2 with MP Motorsport and became a member of the Williams Driver Academy in 2023. At the 2024 Italian Grand Prix, Colapinto debuted in F1 with Williams Racing and became a reserve driver for Alpine for the rest of the season. He has now been named Alpine's full-time F1 driver, replacing Jack Doohan at the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. It will be the first time that Franco Colapinto will drive for the 2025 F1 season.
