Europa League round-up: Swansea trounce Valencia, Tottenham ease to win as Wigan draw awaya

Swansea produced some of their best football so far their season as they travelled to Valencia and beat the Spanish side 3-0 after home defender Adil Rami got sent off in the 9th minute for a professional foul. Wilfried Bony and Michu got on the score sheet before Jonathan De Guzman scored with an excellent free kick.

Jermain Defoe hit a brace and Christian Eriksen scored his first goal for the club as Tottenham kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 3-0 win at home. Defoe scored in the 21st minute and then again eight minutes later before Eriksen curled in his first Tottenham goal in the 86th minute.

Wigan Athletic battled to a goalless away draw against Belgian side Zulte-Waregem on a historic night for the English club as they played their first European tie ever.

Elsewhere in the Europa League two goals in the first 16 minutes from Vaclav Kadlec and Marco Russ helped Eintracht Frankfurt to a 3-0 win over Bordeaux as Constant Djakpa rounded off the scoring for the home side.

Fiorentina strolled to a 3-0 victory over Pacos Ferreira with Gonzalo Rodriguez giving the Italians a 1-0 lead in the first half before Ryder Matos and Giuseppe Rossi struck in the second half to seal the victory at home.

Real Betis and Lyon shared the spoils as they played out a goalless draw in Spain.

Julien Gorius scored a 62nd minute winner for Genk as they Dynamo Kyiv away from home while Lazio eased past Legia Warsaw as Hernanes scored the only goal of the game in the 53rd minute.
